Revere Police NEWS

 STILL RACING…AND AMAZINGLY!

If one hasn’t been watching Revere Police Sgt. Joe Covino on the Amazing Race television show, it’s something to tune in to see.

Revere Police Sgt. Joe Covino and his ‘Amazing Race’ partner continue to face challenges every Thursday night on CBS’s popular reality television show.

Covino can not disclose how he finished in the Race, which ends in June when the season concludes, but he and his partner are showing strong signs of cooperation.

One particularly funny moment was during the first week when Covino began to grow weary of his slow-driving taxi driver in Brazil, saying that in Massachusetts, no one would be going so slow.

Meanwhile, last week he travelled to Italy, where the popular Revere officer was seen making a wire mesh mannequin with his partner.

The Race continues for Covino this Thursday night at 10 p.m.

ARRESTED FOR DRUGGED DRIVING

A Burlington man was arrested on Saturday night when he was found in the parking lot of the Suffolk Down Stop & Shop slumped over the wheel.

Officers were called to the lot around 5:48 p.m. for a man slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle.

Officers performed a short investigation and observed that he was intoxicated on some narcotic.

Romain Paul Peallat, 24, of Burlington, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs.

TENANT STOLE HIS CAR

A woman, who is in the process of being evicted from her apartment, allegedly stole her landlord’s car and then wrecked it shortly after in Chelsea.

Around 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, police were called to Franklin Avenue where the owner of the property said his tenant stole his car.

He said the woman was being evicted, and in response, she took his keys and stole his car.

Revere Police learned shortly after that the woman had been in a car accident with the vehicle in Chelsea. She had been transported to CHA Everett for her injuries.

She is expected to recover, but she is to be summonsed for the charges.

Sandra Sargent, 32, of 10 Franklin Ave., was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and taking and stealing parts from a motor vehicle.
