Lilla Bradley-Harvey
Enjoyed having her family around her at all times, member of many organiations
Lilla (Bradley) Harvey, a Revere native and a 57-year resident of Saugus, died following a long period of declining health on January 24 at her residence. She was 86 years old.
Born and raised in Beachmont, Revere, she was a 1949 graduate of Revere High School. She had a 10-year career with N.E. Tel & Tel as a telephone operator and retired in 1958. She and her family moved to Saugus in 1960. She was the quintessence of motherhood and thoroughly enjoyed having her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her large extended family around her at all times.
After her children married, she became active in several social organizations. She was a member of the Revere Seniors, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Beachmont V.F.W Post #6712, a member of the Revere Patriots’ Club, the Revere Chapter of the Red Hatters and the Lynnway Bowlers Group.
She was the beloved wife of the late George L. Harvey, Jr., who passed in February of 2007; the devoted mother of Denise J. Murphy of Saugus, Timothy P. Harvey and his wife, Terri of Saugus, Christopher D. Harvey of Saugus, Patrice L. Solomons and her husband, Michael J. of Windham, NH and the late George L. Harvey, III; the cherished sister of Sr. Thomas Joseph Bradley, CSJ (former Principal of Immaculate Conception Grammar School-Revere) of Brighton, Mass., the late Leona Bernard, Thomas M. and Richard B. Bradley and June Fields; the loving grandmother to Leah, Melissa, Nicole, Brittany, Bethany, Sarah, Derek, Christopher, Jordan, Samantha, Lindsy, Sean, Ryan, Andrew and Zachary and adored great-grandmother to Ella, Lily, Kaitlyn, Jocelyn, Kyla, Shaelyn, Hannah, Evelyn and Stella. She is also lovingly survived by her niece, Bunice “DeDe†Anderson of Saugus and by many other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, Revere. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, W. Peabody. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time for Elaine J. (O’Donnell) Reardon who passed unexpectedly following a brief illness at Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge on January 30. She was 76 years old.
A Revere resident for more than 40 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Francis B. “Franny†Reardon who died in August of 2012 and the devoted mother of Gerald L. Styburski of Revere.

Albert ‘Albie’ Lavargna, Sr.
Family man who loved home and nature, rooted for the Boston Patriots and rose to the challenge of producing some of the best tomatoes
Albert “Albie†John Lavargna, Sr., a resident of Revere, formerly of the Linden section of Malden, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family on January 28. He was 86 years old.
Albie was a family man who loved his home and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. His door was always open and his home was a place for all to gather where he would proudly celebrate the many milestones of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Albie was well loved by his family and friends and he greeted everyone he knew with a smile. Sunday dinners with the whole gang were routine and were usually followed by an enthusiastic rooting for the New England Patriots.
In his younger days, Revere Beach was his stomping ground. Albie was a nature lover who enjoyed his yard and tending to his swimming pool making it a fun time for all. Gardening was one of his favorite pastimes and he always rose to the challenge of producing some of the most amazing tomatoes year after year.
Albie was born in Malden on September 18, 1930 to the late Giuseppe Lavargna and Acheta (Nuzzolillo) Lavargna. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Margaret (MacEachern) Lavargna. He was the dear brother to the late Armand, Anthony, Michele, Lorenzo (his twin), Theresa, and Mary Gaunelli. He was the devoted father of the late Joseph of Malden and is survived by his son, Albert, Jr. and his late wife, Virginia of Revere, his son, Michael of Revere, his daughter
Charlene Santo and her husband, Stephen of Brockton, his daughter Cheryl Pendenza and her husband, Anthony of Medford and his daughter Karen and her husband, Tim Johnson of Reading. He was the loving Papa to
10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Timothy Feeley
Oil burner removal technician
Timothy P. Feeley died by accident on Saturday, January 21. He was 47 years old.
Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Nancy (Dunbar) Feeley and Jeremiah Feeley and his step-mother, Christine (Nowicki) Feeley.
Tim was employed by Tanks-A-Lot, a division of JJ Holmes & Sons of Everett, as an oil burner removal technician, previously he had worked for The Pizza Kitchen in Revere.
In addition to his father, Tim is survived by one son; William T. Feeley of Winthrop. He was the brother of Joanne Lozier and her husband, Michael of North Reading, Jeanne Gangi and her husband, Michael of Peabody, Julie Hoey and her husband, George of Lynnfield, Jerry Feeley and his wife, Carolyn of Pennsylvania and the late William Feeley.  Tim was the uncle of Danielle, Kaitlyn, Erica, Mackenzie, Meghan, Madison, Alexandra, Joshua and Matthew; grandson of the late Ruth and Charles Doty and John and Catherine Feeley.  Tim is also survived by his companion, Kimberly “Dolly†Grushey of Revere, his cousin, Thomas Feeley of Revere and best friend, Vincent Lauretano of Revere.

Teodoro Fusco of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully on January 26.
He was the beloved husband of Mafalda (Augellone) Fusco; loving father of John Fusco and his wife, Mariregis of Stoneham, Terry MacDonald and her husband, Gary of Norwood and Albert Fusco and his wife, Fran of Westwood; cherished grandfather of Alanna, Timothy, Andrea, Michael, Nicholas and Christopher and dear brother of the late Anthony Fusco, Giovanna Colarossi, Lucia Rinaldi, Peter Fusco, Donata Fusco, Pasqua Spacone and Giovanni Fusco.
Family and friends will honor Teodoro’s life by gathering today, Wednesday, February 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., (Orient Heights) East Boston immediately followed by a funeral procession to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere for a Funeral Mass in celebration of Teodoro’s life at 12 noon. Joseph Merullo
Retired engineer, Past President of St. Anthony’s Holy Name Society, Holy Name Society Man of the Year of 1991 and golf enthusiast
Joseph A. Merullo, a lifelong resident of Revere, died at the Eastpointe Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea on January 22. He was 87 years old.
The loving husband of 62 years of Muriel V. (Farren) Merullo, he was born in and a lifelong resident of Revere. He was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanora (DeMarco) Merullo. Mr. Merullo was a member of the US Air National Guard (Korean Conflict), studied at MIT and was a Massachusetts Registered Professional Engineer and was a Mechanical Engineer for 39 years at Badger America. He was past president of St. Anthony’s Holy Name and was named St. Anthony’s Holy Name’s Man of the Year for 1991. Joseph was also a member of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose from 1981 to 2012 where he spent endless hours in the pursuit of perfection of his favorite pastime, golf!
In addition to his wife, Mr. Merullo leaves four children: Joseph A. Merullo and his wife, Linda of Dover, NH, Lisa M. Barry and her husband, Lawrence of Methuen, Jack Merulla and his wife, Lori of Saugus and Robert F. Merullo of Revere; one sister, Gloria Ciccolo; six grandchildren, Devin, Joseph, Kimberly, Joshua, Kaitlin and McKinley. He was predeceased by his sisters, Phyllis Rossetti and Violet Aucell and; brothers, Carmen, Roland, Robert, and Anthony Merullo.

Lawrence Angelo Breda
Printing industry retiree
Lawrence Angelo Breda died suddenly on January 24. He was 87 years old.
Larry, as he was known, was born in Revere on October 12, 1929, the son of Maria (Seporiti) and Ernesto Breda and he was proceeded by his brothers Lorenzo, Ernesto Jr., and Virgilo and his sister, Angela Breda.
In his youth, he worked at both The Revere Theater on Broadway and The Beach View Theater in Revere where he met the love of his life, Dolores Landano.
He was proud to serve in the National Guard at Camp Edwards in 1948.  His lifelong friend, the late Jerry Kaestner, taught Larry photography at the late Anthony M. Ferragamo’s Coronet Studios. He worked in the printing industry for Forbes in Chelsea until its closing and then at Rust Craft Cards and Printing in Dedham, eventually retiring from Uni-graphic in Saugus.
Larry loved Ocean View Dance Hall on Revere Beach, where he enjoyed dancing for 25 cents on Saturdays with Dolores.  He was a member of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose for 38 years where he spent many joy filled days.
He was the loving husband of Dolores J. Breda (Landano) for 66 years; beloved father to two daughters, Lorna Moss of Cumberland Foreside, Maine and Renee Santella and her husband, Andrew of Marblehead; cherished grandfather to Jacqueline Moss, Daniel Moss, Matthew Moss, Adam Santella, and Alexis Santella. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Services are private. However, there will be a Memorial Celebration of Larry’s life in April at Bellevue Golf Club, all are invited to join.

Carl Rizzo, Jr.
Retired FAA Computer technician
Carl C. Rizzo, Jr., a longtime resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Revere, passed away on January 14 surrounded by his family.
Born in Revere on December 22, 1924 at his family home, the son of the late Carl C. Rizzo, Sr. and Florence (McWilliams) Rizzo, Carl served our country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he worked at the Charlestown Naval Base and then began his career in the computer technology industry – primarily in government services. He continued as a computer technician for the FAA for 35 years.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Dwyer) Rizzo and is survived by his children: Karen A. Rizzo and her boyfriend, John Curseaden of Lincoln, MA, David L. Rizzo of Chelmsford, Thomas D. Rizzo and his wife, Deborah of New Ipswich, NH and a sister, Marguerite Rizzo of Revere. He was the beloved “Papa†to Stephanie and Jose DeJesus, Stephen and Abigail Sousa, Carl and Jennifer Rizzo, Christopher and Emily Rizzo, Catlyn and Stephen Stille. He was “Great Papa†to Devin Skyler, Will, Conner, Margaret, Mackenzie, Zachary, Stetson, Monty and Delain; brother of the late Robert and Sabino Rizzo and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The beloved husband of Miledy Santana Arias, he was the devoted father of Marielva Arias, Juan Rafael Arias, and Wilfredo Arias, all of Revere; loving son of Juan Rafael Arias and the late Ana Mercedez Ortega; dear brother of Juan Arias, Carlos Arias, Maria Arias, Antolin Arias, Isidro Arias, Praxida Arias, Fior Daliza Arias and Jose Arias and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Antonetta (Poccio) Annese of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away January 29. She was 92 years old.
A retired seamstress for a clothing company, she was the beloved wife of the late Albert “Libbyâ€Annese; loving mother of Anne-Marie West and her husband, Vernon Jr. and Albert Annese and his wife, Toni, all of Peabody; dear sister of the late Melina Emmanuel, Peter Poccio, Mary Festa, Anthony Poccio and Pasquale Poccio and his surviving wife, Lorraine of Revere; cherished Nanni of Jackie, Vernon the III, and Samantha West, Alyssa, Ashley, Dominic and Dylan Annese. Anthony ‘Brother’ Iovine
Longtime member of Revere Moose
Anthony “Brother†Iovine, a lifelong resident of Revere, died on January 30.
As a young man, Anthony worked at Revere Beach in the arcade.  He worked for the Sweetheart Paper Company in Chelsea for many years.  Anthony was an avid baseball and football fan and enjoyed going to the Revere High football stadium across the street from his house for the games. He was a long time member of the Revere Moose and liked to go bowling.  Anthony cherished his trips to the casino with his sisters, Eleanor and Camille.
He was the dear brother of  Camille Pothier and her husband, Edwin of Revere and the late Eleanor Iovine, Vera Muollo, Matilda Gilmore and Ida Quartarone.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, a grandnephew and grandniece.

Dean Rogerson
Finish Carpenter
Dean L. Rogerson of Sagamore, MA, formerly of Revere, died at Cape Cod Hospital of Hyannis on January 20 following a long illness, although unexpectedly. He was 50 years old.
Born in Winthrop, he was raised and educated in Revere and was a 1984 graduate of Revere High School. He spent all his life in Revere until moving to Sagamore with his family about 10 years ago. Most of his working career was as a “finish carpenter†for several local construction firms.
He was the beloved son of the late Donald L. Rogerson, Sr. and Gwen R. (Prior) Rogerson; devoted brother of Donald L. Rogerson, Jr. and Edwin P. “Ted†Rogerson, both of Sagamore and the late Dana L. Rogerson who died on May 31, 2016 following a tragic auto accident and the cherished uncle of Peter Lastih, Melissa Rogerson and Nolan Rogerson, all of Sagamore. He is also lovingly survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins..

Helen Janiak
Her love for family and faith sustained her
Helen (Binkowski) Janiak, Â a long time resident of Revere, passed away peacefully on January 30. She was 96 years old.
Helen was born and raised in Chelsea to Frances (Budna) Binkowski and Michael Binkowski.  She had five siblings: the late Frank Binkowski, Charles Binkowski, the late Anne Binkowski, Jane Binkowski, and Mary (Binkowski) Haskell.
Helen married Chester Janiak in 1943 and she worked in California in 1943 while her husband was stationed outside of San Diego before deployment to the Pacific. She and Chester returned to Revere in 1945 to live and raise their sons, Chester and Martin.
Helen worked as an assistant buyer for women’s clothing at Jordan Marsh Company in Boston, a job she loved. It cultivated her love of fashion and shopping which she continued to enjoy well into her 90’s.
Helen’s dedication and love for her family and for her faith sustained her and were her highest priority.  Her love of reading and learning were passed on to her sons and their families.  Helen was so proud of the many academic and business accomplishments of her sons and their children.  She will be greatly missed.
Helen and her late husband, Chester raised their two sons, the late Chester and Martin in a loving and warm home in Revere.  She leaves behind her son Martin of Middleton and his wife, Marie (Luongo) Janiak and their daughter, Jessica Janiak of Lynnfield, Rise (Maron) Janiak of Cambridge, wife of son Chester (deceased)  and their children, Melissa Janiak and her husband, Donald Oliver of Portland, Oregon and Elizabeth Janiak and her husband, John Beck of Somerville, as well as Andrew Janiak (son of Chester and Joan Saperstan) and his wife, Rebecca Stein of Raleigh-Durham N.C. Helen will also be missed by her much loved great-grandchildren: Isaac and Saul Janiak-Stein, Mirabel and Max Oliver and Chester Beck as well as by many nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law Martin Janiak and his wife, Dorothy of Danvers.
