Police NEWS

MAN STONES DOG

A homeless man out of Boston, who is well known to Revere Police, was arrested after throwing several stones at a dog on Fairfield Street playing in its yard.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the scene by a concerned citizen who, along with a female party, had confronted a man throwing stones at their neighbor’s dog.

The man had fled into the Marsh, but after a brief search, the concerned citizen led police to where he was hiding. Police immediately recognized the man as having been in several criminal incidents within the area.

He told police that the dog had bit him.

The concerned citizen and female neighbor said it wasn’t the case, and noted they confronted the man when they saw him approach the fence and begin throwing stones at the dog, which is named Princess.

The homeowner was able to produce a high definition video of the incident and the dog was observed playing quietly within its fenced yard. The suspect was then seen approaching the fence and calling the dog. Once the dog came close, the man kicked the fence so that it hit the dog. Then the man picked up stones and began pelting the dog until neighbors intervened.

Taurek Musa Dugha, 35, homeless of Boston, was charged with disorderly conduct, animal cruelty and disturbing the peace.

SLAPS WOMAN, KICKS DOG

A retired DPW worker who has been exhibiting erratic and dangerous behavior lately in his Liston Towers home was summonsed on Monday, Oct. 11.

Around 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, a 60 year old woman reported that the man had slapped her in the face and kicked her dog. Several residents told police that the man had either assaulted them or their friends recently as well. This year, police noted the man has been calling 9-1-1 for no reason routinely.

Officers went to his apartment and heard a major commotion inside, with things breaking and lots of carousing inside. The man wouldn’t open the door, but once the Fire Department was called for a forced entry, he let police in.

Officers found the home completely filthy and destroyed.

They considered him a danger to himself and to the other residents, calling for him to be evaluated.

Anthony Esposito, 75, of 45 Dolphin Ave., was summonsed for assault and battery on a person 60 or over, and cruelty to animals.

NO AUNT KELLY B.

Three juveniles were arrested on Ocean Avenue Sunday after being found in a stolen car from Somerville.

Around 1 a.m., police on patrol noticed a car driving fast and running a stop sign from Beach Street to Ocean Avenue.

Officers stopped the vehicle and noted that it had been reported stolen.

The driver pointed to the passenger who then pointed to a female in back.

The female said it was her aunt’s car, which was named Kelly B.

She said she didn’t know what the ‘B’ stood for because it was a long name and hard to pronounce.

After a review of the records, the car belonged to someone with the last name of Carter. There were no hard to pronounce names starting with ‘B.’

Two 16-year-old juveniles were charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and one 17-year-old juvenile was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and unlicensed operation.

TRIED TO BRIBE HIS WAY OUT

One man who nearly ran over a three-year-old boy riding a tricycle behind Revere High School (RHS) tried to bribe the father in front of a police officer during an incident on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Around 5:55 p.m., officers were stationed in the RHS lot surveying traffic when a vehicle tore into the lot going very fast and revving its engine loudly. A little boy on a tricycle was riding under the supervision of his father in the lot near the baseball field when the car came flying towards him, slamming on the brakes and missing the child.

Police immediately jumped to the scene and found the father and child safe.

The driver told police that there was something wrong with his car and so he thought if he took it to an open area and went fast and revved the engine – the noise in the car might go away.

Police said this was no place for that kind of thing, and the man had endangered the little boy and others in the lot too.

Officers wrote the man a ticket for the incident, but the man decided to see if he could get out of it by bribing the father.

“Can I pay the father for forgiveness and we can make this even so I won’t get a ticket?” the man asked the father.

That got him in much bigger trouble.

Gazmend Hoxha, 41, of 6 Sumner St., was charged with reckless operation and bribing a witness.

THREATS AT CITY HALL

One man from the Boulevard is being put on notice for making threats to kill one of the City Engineers regarding alleged damage to his fence by a City work crew.

Around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, City Hall officials called police to document a man threatening the City Engineer.

Apparently, work had been done on the Boulevard behind the man’s home, but nowhere near the fence. The man has been calling the Mayor’s Office and threatening them, and he has also been calling the engineer.

Last Thursday, despite the City agreeing to fix his fence they don’t believe they damaged, he called the Engineer and twice threatened to come get him and hurt him.

The matter has been logged in case the City Solicitor chooses to pursue charges.
