Martha Audrey Tapper Gruft entered into rest on July 2 in Los Angeles, California after a brave struggle with breast cancer.
A passionate volunteer for many organizations, she is survived by her devoted son and his wife, Alexander and Rozlynne Gruft, and her grandchildren, Audrey and Daniel, all of California. She also leaves her brother, Dr. Douglas Tapper and his wife, Jane of California and her sister, Susie Kornfeld and her husband, Dr. Joseph, of Massachusetts.
A memorial service to celebrate Martha’s life was held at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood 90038 on July 9. Donations in her memory may be made to L.A. Conservancy, 523 W. 6th St., Suite 826, L.A., CA 0014(www.LAConservancy.org).

Rosemary Kolinsky
Of Revere
Rosemary (Christopher) Kolinsky of Revere passed away Wednesday, August 3. She was 80 years old.
The beloved wife of the late Richard Kolinsky, she was the dear sister of Anthony Christopher and his wife, Julie of Revere and Julie LoPiccolo and her husband, Joseph of Reading. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Willa Mooradian
World War II US Army Nurse
Willa P. (Carper) Mooradian of Revere passed away Thursday, August 4 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 94 years old.
A World War II US Army Nurse, she was  born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the  daughter of the late William and Adeline (Lentz) Carper; the beloved wife of the late Vartan Mooradian; loving mother of Kay P. Bonney of Winthrop, Kimberly Irwin of Revere and the late Donald Mooradian; dear sister of the late Dorothy Reeves and Beverly Brooks. She also leaves eight grandchildren and five great –grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Madalyn Doris Purl
30-year employee of the American Cancer Society
Madalyn Doris (Rosenberg) Purl of Revere died on Monday, August 1.
Madalyn worked for the American Cancer Society for 30 years and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans of Massachusetts.
The wife of the late Nathan Piel, she was the devoted mother of Elaine Piel and Steven Piel, both of Revere and the late Janet Piel; loving daughter of the late Benjamin Rosenberg and Julia (Noremversky); dear sister of Harlin Rosenberg and his wife, Audrey of Iowa and the late Bernice Bloom and the loving grandmother of Scooter.
Funeral Services were entrusted to the Torf Funeral Chapel, Chelsea. Interment was in New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, donations in Madalyn’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.

Thomas Griffin
Verizon retiree, always had a smile on his face
Funeral Services were held in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals for Thomas D. Griffin who passed away on Saturday, July 30 at the Blair House in Tewksbury where he had been receiving supportive care. He was 92 years old.
Born and raised in Revere, he graduated from Revere Public Schools, married Elizabeth T. (Kelly) and together they raised their family in Revere. This October the couple would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Thomas worked for over 35 years until his retirement as a custodian for Verizon. He was a longtime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. A kind and gentle man, he was known for always having a smile on his face. He enjoyed traveling throughout the years as well as being an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He was the beloved husband of 49 years of Elizabeth M. (Kelly) Griffin; devoted father of Robert J. Lorentz and his wife, Nancy E. of Tewksbury and Laura Griffin of Chelsea; cherished grandfather of Denise Kirshner, Lori Roberto and Tommy Lorentz; adored great grandfather of Cassandra, Mikey and Leah; dear brother of Catherine F. Griffin of Revere and the late Dorothy L. Griffin, John T. Griffin, Mary M. Brennan, Joseph, James and Francis Griffin.

Sally Hui
Charitable devout Catholic veterans advocate, loved all children and animals
Sally (DiGiacomo) Hui of Lynn died on August 2.
Sally was a devout Catholic with a strong faith and belief in God.  She was charitable and generous, giving to Native American tribes and Catholic schools.  She was an advocate for veterans and volunteered her time at veteran’s shelters. She was the family matriarch who was hard working and an excellent cook who relished spending time with her family and loved all children and animals.  Sally was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her she will be sorely missed.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Ka-Ming Hui; devoted mother of Da-Lung “Arthur†Hui and Yu-Lung “Mary†Hui-Kim and her husband, Chim Kim, all of Lynn; cherished grandmother of Valeria Chanthavy Kim and dear sister of Henry Joseph DiGiacomo of West Roxbury.

Robert Dandrow
Former Enterprise Car Rental manager
Funeral Services were held privately for Robert E. Dandrow, a lifelong Revere resident, who died on Saturday, August 6 at the Tufts Medical Center of Boston following a fall he sustained at home. He was 64 years old.
Robert attended Revere Public Schools and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1969. Immediately after graduation, Robert began to work at the Charlestown Navy Yard as a “Machinistâ€. After the Navy yard closed, Robert began a long career in the “Car Rental Businessâ€. He worked for several of the larger firms, but maintained a longtime position at Enterprise Car Rental. He became an Inventory Control Manager with Enterprise. Due to an affliction with Celiac Disease, Robert was forced to retire much earlier than he had desired. Robert lived a very simplistic and humble life. He was an avid fisherman, often times with his dad and his brothers by his side. He was also a quintessential “Boston Sports Fanâ€, reveling in every victory and agonizing with every loss. Most of all his family was paramount, especially spending time with his two nieces.
He was the cherished son of Edward Dandrow, Sr. of Revere and the late Barbara D. (Cheetham) Dandrow; loving brother of Frederick L. Dandrow and Edward Dandrow, Jr. and his wife Donna; adored uncle of Melissa L. Dandrow and her fiancé, Christopher Davis and Jennifer Dandrow and grand uncle of Ayden Davis, all of Revere.
