Revere Well Represented in Agganis Football Game

Four Revere High football players and the RHS coaching staff helped lead the South All-Star team to a 27-19 victory in the Annual Harry Agganis All-Star Football Game held June 30 at Manning Field in Lynn.

RHS Class of 2016 graduates Steve Noel, Jake Noftle, Pho Tran, and Dan Murphy wrapped up their stellar careers as participants in the annual game that draws the top seniors on the North Shore.

The South head coach was Revere’s Lou Cicatelli, who prepared his team well during practices at Harry Della Russo Stadium.

Lynn English’s Daekwon Shepherd preserved the victory with a last-second interception in the end zone.

Cicatelli said it was an honor to coach in the game and that he was proud of his four representatives of the RHS football program.

The Agganis Game, part of a weeklong event that also features softball, baseball, lacrosse, and soccer games, is named in memory of Harry Agganis, a legendary Lynn Classical athlete who went on to star at Boston University and for the Boston Red Sox. Mr. Agganis died on June 27, 1955, at the age of 26.

The Agganis Foundation has presented more than $1.7 million in scholarships since its inception.
