Edward Arnold

Of Peabody, formerly of Revere

Edward Arnold of Peabody, formerly of Revere, entered into rest April 12 at the age of 86 years.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Elinor (Shenker) Arnold; devoted father of Jeffrey Arnold and his wife ,Lori of Peabody and the late Kenneth Arnold and his wife, Susan Goldstick Arnold of Tempe, AZ.; cherished grandfather of Heather Gravelese and her husband, Gordon and Beth Arnold.; adored great grandfather of Riley and Kody Gravelese; loving brother of Sandra Carvin and her husband ,Donald of Sharon and Myra Davidson and her husband ,Robert of Foxboro and dear brother-in-law of Sandra Becker and her husband, William.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem.  Interment was at Vilkomere Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations  may be made to the Aleppo Children’s Hospital Transportation Fund, 99 Fordham Road, Wilmington, MA 01866.

Mary King

Homemaker and Volunteer

Mary A. (Vallis) King of Admiral’s Hill in Chelsea, formerly of Revere, passed away on Sunday morning, April 17 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home. She was 95 years old.

Born in Coombs Cove, Newfoundland, Canada, the daughter of the late John J. and Bessie (Fiander) Vallis, Mary came to the United States as a small child and attended school in Chelsea. She was a homemaker throughout her working career, caring for her home and her three boys.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Benjamin J. Robichaud in 1969. Mary later married John E. King and together they shared 17 years of marriage before his passing in 1988.

Mary was a resident of Revere for 25 years before settling back in Chelsea. She spent her time volunteering at the Chelsea Senior Center and was very active at her home on Admiral’s Hill. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and most importantly, enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Mary was the beloved mother of Thomas J. Robichaud of Tewksbury, Randall King of Peabody and the late John J. Robichaud; sister of the late Alton Vallis, Matthew Vallis, Emma Levine, Meta Bradley, Catherine Vallis and Thomas Vallis. She is also lovingly survived by five grandchildren: Michael Robichaud, Jamey Robichaud, Randy King, Jaran Stallbaum and the late Justin King.

A Memorial Service and celebration of Mary’s life will be conducted in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will precede the service from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Francis ‘Frankie’ Norris

Construction Laborer

Francis “Frankie” Norris of Revere passed away on April 15.

A construction laborer, he also served in the US Army National Guard.

He was the cherished son of the late Francis and Theresa (Nolan) Norris; loving father of Mark Twohig and Theresa Norris, both of New Hampshire; dear brother of Linda McCann, Richard and his wife, Virginia, Judy, Kenneth and Joseph Norris, all of Revere, and the late William and Theresa Norris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Judy Serino

Former Harvard University Library Assistant

Judy Serino, born Gulia Caterina Suillacioti, of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully April 13.

Her working career was spent as a library assistant at Harvard University.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria (Frammartino) Squillicioti and the beloved sister of the late Gina Squillicioti who died at the age of six months. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Serino; beloved mother of Judy Ann Marano, Gina Maria Elena Serino and Kenneth Joseph Serino; beloved grandmother of Sherri Marano and great-grandmother of James and Anthony Toomey.

A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere. Joan Sacco

Loving Mother & Wife

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our most beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Joan Sarah (Ciampa) Sacco peacefully left this earth on Tuesday, April 19th at Mass General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born to the late Alexander Ciampa and Lillian Cesario Ciampa on March 1, 1936.

Joan married the love of her life, Anthony Sacco in 1956.  She spent her entire life in Revere where she and her husband lovingly raised their family of six.  Her family was her greatest love and passion and she took great pleasure in each of their lives and accomplishments. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader and cherished time with family.    Her life was steeped in tradition and a deep faith which she passed on to her family. She loved to sew, quilt, paint and pray; sharing the products of her crafts with family and friends.

For the past 20 years Joan and her husband spent their winters in Florida where they had many friends and were actively involved in the local church.

She created memories and traditions that will be cherished by her husband of sixty years, Anthony Sacco. Her daughter Audrey Kivley and husband Dennis of Hampstead, NH, Adrienne Sacco Maguire and her husband Daniel of Revere; daughter Alisa Sacco Moscone and her husband Michael of Marblehead, MA; Antonia Steriti and her husband Edward of Nahant. Sons, Anthony and Peter Sacco. She was Grammy to her grandchildren, Dennis Kivley, Arianna Moscone, Michaela Maguire, Alexa Steriti, Alea Moscone, Whitney Kivley, Meghan Maguire and Anna Sacco and her great grandson Dennis John Kivley III. Sister of Diane Gentile and her daughter Gina, and sister of the late Bernice Yannizze.

Family and friends are cordially invited to join the family to share memories of Joan on Friday, April 22 4-8PM at Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, Revere, MA 02151. Her funeral will be on Saturday April 23 at 10:00 AM from the funeral home with a mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Revere at 11 AM.
