Dentists Find Revere Just the Spot for Practice

By Sue Ellen Woodcock

Dr. Fardad Mobed and his wife, Dr. Lily Parsi, are no strangers to Revere or the mouths of their clients whom they see in their Broadway dental office.

The couple, married 18 years ago, both came to dentistry after receiving college degrees in other fields. The two met years ago through a friend when both were attending a soccer game in Belgium.

Mobed holds a degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University and Parsi holds three engineering degrees as well as a doctorate in water resources. She graduated from Tufts Dental School in 2000. Mobed went on to Boston University and became an endodontist in 1992, specializing in root canals.

“I had a lot of friends who were dentists and I used to visit them when they worked in the lab,” Mobed said. Soon he was checking out molds of teeth and all the other instruments they used.

Parsi is only one of two dentists in Revere who truly specialize in pediatric dentistry. Mobed and his wife have two daughters, 10 and 5, the oldest would like to become a veterinarian.

“He is all about his patients,” Parsi said about her husband. “He has been known to see elderly patients at their home. There is a bond, a relationship with the patient. We have even had patients who have moved to New Hampshire and they come back.”

In 1992 Mobed opened his first Revere dental office at the Northgate Plaza. His wife joined him when he moved the office to Broadway. The two have 5,000 active patients and the equipment to do anything, including a Cat Scan machine, one of five in the state. Mobed also has an office in Brookline.

Parsi said with children the adage is “first tooth, first visit” but she likes to see children around the age of one. The youngest she has ever had was a 14-month old in need of an extraction.

When he purchased the building at 603 Broadway, Mobed jokes that he purchased a truck to get through the snow.
