George Russell

Retired Revere Police Patrolman

George A. Russell, retired Revere Police Patrolman, died on November 10 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 91 years old.

The husband of the late Eileen M. (Lee) Russell, he was born, raised and was a lifelong resident of Revere, the son of the late John F. and Mary (Toomey) Russell. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, a member of the Massachusetts Police Association and American Legion Post #61 of Revere.

Mr. Russell is survived by four children; George A. Russell, Jr. and his wife, Virginia of Alexandria, VA, Carol A. Mastronardi of Saugus and her late husband, John, Kathleen M. McGuiggan of Melrose and Richard J. Russell and his wife, Antonette of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren Ryan, Sarah, Kyle, Kevin, Lauren, Michael and Alexis and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Francis, Arthur, William, Thomas and Kathryn Russell and Doris Kelly. Mr. Russell is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, Saugus. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the John Mastronardi Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 386, Wilmington, MA 01887.

Odette Filippone

Of West Newbury, formerly of Revere

Odette O. (Violette) Filippone of West Newbury, formerly of Revere, died on November 14.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph Filippone, she was the devoted mother of John J. Filippone and his wife, Angela of Salisbury and George Filippone and his wife, Linda of West Newbury; cherished grandmother of John Filippone Jr. “JR” and his wife, Joyce, Joseph Filippone and his wife, Erica and Noelle Filippone; great-grandmother of Joseph, Jaxson, Jarrod, Javen and Colby. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons~Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere today, Wednesday, November 18 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Michael DeMarco

Member of Club 24 of Malden

Michael G. DeMarco, a 20-year resident of Revere, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on November 14 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere following a long illness. He was 78 years old.

Born and riased in Boston’s North End, he lived there for most of his life before coming to Revere 20 years ago. He attended Boston schools and entered the US Army in June of 1956 serving until May of 1958 during the Cold War. “Mike” worked as a printer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than 25 years and worked concurrently as a long time employee, (bartender) for La Cantina Italiana Restaurant on Hanover Street in Boston where he made many friends over the years.

Michael was also a proud recipient of the “Thirty Year Award” for sobriety rendered by Club 24 of Malden. And, for the past 30 years, he has been a most active member of the club who always made himself available to aid and counsel brothers in need regardless of the time of day.

He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Adamakos) DeMarco who passed in June of 1995; the cherished father of Margarita M. Keith and her husband, Anthony ‘Andy’ and the devoted grandfather of Jackson A. and Marco J. Keith, all of Jericho, Vermont; the dear brother of Corinne Mustacchio and her husband, Jack of Somerville, Rosemarie “RoRo” DeMarco-Galvin and her husband, retired RPD Matthew J. Galvin of Revere and the late Anthony, Albert, Alphonse, John ‘Jackie’ and LuLu DeMarco. “Mike” is also lovingly survived by his companion, Susan Eccleston of Everett and by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was also the son of the late Albert and Rose (Reppucci) DeMarco.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours today, Wednesday, November 18 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere. Following the visitation, his funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Justin King

Of Quincy

Justin M. King of Quincy died on November 2.

He was the devoted son of Kathleen A. Harper and her husband, Eric of Barrington, RI and Randall King and his companion, Jackie Stallbaum of Peabody; dear brother of Randy King of Salem and Jaran Stallbaum of Peabody; loving fiancé of Jillian Parsons of Peabody; cherished grandson of Carol and Joe Donahue of Chelmsford and Mary King of Chelsea. He is also survived by his best buddy, Jax and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marjorie ‘Margie’ ‘Maggie’ Shea

Former Revere resident

Marjorie A. “Margie or Maggie” (Chagnon) Shea of Douglas, MA formerly of Revere, died peacefully on October 28 at Charlwell Nursing Home, Norwood,.

She was born on November 4, 1936 in Nashua, NH and was the devoted mother of Susan (Shea) Connolly and her husband, Bryan P. Connolly; loving grandmother of the late Ethan P. Connolly; sister of Virginia L. Sullivan of Old Town, Florida and George P. Chagnon and his wife, Marie (Sabbio) Chagnon of Uxbridge; half sister of Joyce (Chagnon) Santos, Janet (Chagnon) Allain, both of Florida and the late Diane (Chagnon) Hinton of Rochester, NH, Frederick Chagnon of Manchester, NH, Daniel Chagnon of Panama City, FL and Richard Chagnon of Bow, NH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held spring of 2016 for family and invited friends.

Josephine (Cannata) Cannatella of Revere died on November 1.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Cannatella, she was the devoted mother of Joseph Cannatella and his wife, Norma of Nashua, NH, Maria Rodrigues and her husband, Anthony of Norwell, Patricia Cannatella-Trickett and her husband, Paul, of Revere and John Cannatella and his wife, Renee Muise of Salem, NH; dear sister of the late Mary Capano, Ida Schieber and Michael Cannata; cherished grandmother of Janine Agelopolous, Derek Carrillo, John Cannatella, Jr, Joseph Cannatella and Christiano Rodrigues and great-grandmother of Jesse Angelopolous. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
