Jessica Giannino’s role as a City Councilor has been an enriching experience. For over three years, she has been honored to work for the residents and be involved in the community she loves. Jessica offers a unique perspective and believes that with innovation, fresh ideas and hard work, Revere will be a more unified and productive city. Jessica will seek re-election for the office of Councilor at Large to continue her efforts for the City of Revere.
Jessica graduated from Revere High School with honors in 2010 and Salem State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2014. During her time at Revere High, Jessica was involved in many groups and clubs including the National Honors Society, Italian National Honors Society, Yearbook Committee, Student Council and was the captain of the golf team. While at Salem State, she continued to be involved by serving as the vice president of the Student Government Association, president of the Student Commuter Association, and member of the honors societies Sigma Tau Delta and Pi Lambda Theta.
Jessica was elected in 2012 and served as City Council Vice President in 2013. She has also been the chair of the Youth, Parks and Recreation Subcommittee. While on this committee, Jessica worked with her colleagues to make sure that City parks were drug, alcohol and weapon free safe zones for the children of Revere to enjoy.
As a fourth generation Revere resident, Jessica was raised in a family of civil servants. Public safety has always been an important focus for her. Jessica’s father, Sergeant Christopher Giannino, is a 25-year veteran on the Revere Police Department, grandfather a retired Revere firefighter, and uncle a current member of the Revere Fire Department with more than 20 years of service. One of her goals is to continue to ensure our Fire and Police Departments have the best equipment and technology while ultimately working to get more men and women on the job.
During a crucial time for Revere, Jessica’s focus on the Council will be generating more economic development for the city. Revere has sufficient residential development and it is time to shift focus to the future and on fostering the development of new business opportunities for the city. In her time on the City Council, Jessica has overseen four budgets and worked diligently to ensure they were lean and efficient. It is her goal to continue to maintain that Revere is financially responsible and fiscally conservative. She believes it is her responsibility to ensure timeliness and accountability when approving matters that come before her on the council. It has been an honor to serve the City of Revere and she truly believes that the best is yet to come. Working together as a community is the catalyst for change for a better Revere. Jessica humbly asks for one of your five votes on Election Day.
