Nickerson Joins At-Large Race

A Revere native with ties to city hall has taken out papers to run for an at-large city council seat.

Priscilla Nickerson, of 350 Revere Beach Blvd., is Mayor Dan Rizzo’s co-campaign manager, a former secretary in the Economic Development office and currently a grant writer for the city.

Others running for councilor at large are Matthew Amato, John Correggio, Michael Falzone, Jessica Giannino, Robert Haas Jr., Gregg LaCedra, Steven Morabito, Ed O’Hara, Catherine Belinfante Penn, George Rotondo, Francis Sarro, and Anthony Zambuoto.

To be placed on the November ballot candidates have to obtain 50 signatures and have them certified by the election department. The last date for candidates to file nomination papers for certification is July 14 at 5 p.m.

Candidates for mayor include incumbent Dan Rizzo, current councillor Brian Arrigo and Cheryl Whittredge.

Joanne McKenna is running for Ward 1. Ira Novoselsky is running for Ward 2. Arthur Guinasso is running for Ward 3. Patrick Keefe Jr. and Stephen Reardon are running for Ward 4. John Powers is running for Ward 5 and Charles Patch Sr. is running for Ward 6.

In the School Committee race, incumbents Stacey Rizzo, Michael Ferrante, Susan Gravellese, Dan McGuire, Donna Wood Pruitt and Carol Tye have taken out papers. Also running are Ricky Freni, Frederick Sannella and Al Terminiello Jr.
