Christine Anderson

Homemaker and Mutual’s Clerk for former Wonderland Dog Race Track

Christine M. (Grenham) Anderson died unexpectedly on May 21 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 62 years old.

Born in Malden, she attended schools in Hanover and was a 1971 graduate of Hanover High School. For several years, she worked as a mutual’s clerk for Wonderland Dog Race Track.

She was the beloved wife of 39 years to James J. Anderson Jr. and the devoted mother of Lisa A. Nutt and her husband, Bill of Revere, James J. Anderson, III and his wife, Doreen of Krakow, Poland, Dawn M. Lauria and her husband, Vincent M. Jr. and Robert P. Anderson, all of Revere and Christopher J. Anderson and his wife, Tina of Rowley; the dear sister of Edward Grenham of Wareham, Eric Wyman of Hanover and the late Kathy Jewers and Robert Wyman. She is also lovingly survived by 12 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, her sister in law, Rhonda Wyman of Hanover and by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours today, Wednesday, May 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. In the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, May 8 at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 660 Washington St., Revere at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Peabody. Walter Rowe

Retired iron worker

Walter A. Rowe of Revere passed away after a long illness on May 22.

A retired iron worker, Walter loved spending time with his family, gardening and riding his motorcycle.

He was the beloved husband of Paula M. Rowe of Revere with whom he shared 37 years of marriage; devoted father of Pamela J. Gilman and her husband, Michael and Michelle L. Rezendes and the late Michael, all of Billerica; dear brother of Richard Rowe and his wife, Kathy of New Hampshire and the late Scott Rowe, Fern “Teeny” O’Brien and Elaine Churches; cherished grandfather of Jorja G. Gilman, Madison and Matthew Rezendes. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons~Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, today, Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

Of Chelsea

Wendy Dunlop of Chelsea died suddenly on May 23. She was 38 years old.

She was the beloved daughter of the late John Mandracchia and Marie (Koczorowski); devoted sister of Virginia DeSantis of New Hampshire; cherished granddaughter of Louise (Flammia) Koczorowski of Chelsea and the late Anthony; dear niece of Lola Hollingsworth of Tewksbury, Teresa Koczorowski of Revere and Richard Koczorowski of Haverhill; loving aunt of Stephen Garrett, Ryan Garrett, Kristin DeSantis, Jason Garrett Jr and great aunt of Liam Doty and is also survived by her cousins Kenneth Dulong and Fadela Nedjar.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons- Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Friday, May 29 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Terrence ‘Terry’ Slattery

Retired landscaper and avid golfer

Terrence L. “Terry” Slattery of Revere and Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on May 19 at his Florida residence.

Born, raised and educated in Malden, he left Malden more than 48 years ago when he moved to East Boston. He and his wife have been residents of Revere for over 20 years. For 35 years, he owned and operated Slattery’s Landscaping Services throughout the North Shore. Terry was an avid sportsman who especially enjoyed playing golf throughout the area and in Florida.

He was the beloved and caring husband of 48 years to Lillian G. (Martino) Slattery of Revere and Fort St. Lucie, Florida; devoted father of Mark A. Slattery of Revere and Thomas D. Harmon and his wife, Christine of Woburn; cherished grandfather of Jennifer Melville and her husband, Joseph of Quincy and Derek M. Harmon of Woburn; the dear brother of John Slattery and his wife, Elinor of Malden and the late Frank and Michael Slattery, Noreen Martorana and Mary Lessard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and faithful family friend, Sheila Korinow of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Terry was a larger than life personality leaving many friends golfing buddies and acuaintances most saddened.

Gilbert Cherry

Retired educator

Gilbert M. Cherry of Swampscott, long time beloved partner of Shirley Ashman, died May 21 surrounded by his loving family. He was 92 years old.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lena (Kaplan) Cherry. He was raised and educated in Cambridge and was a graduate of Harvard University and Boston University Graduate School of Education.

An honorably discharged US Army veteran of World War II, He was employed as a teacher at Chelsea High School. He also worked part time as a cook at Wonderland Dog Track and the Ritz Carlton Hotel and was past president of Temple B’Nai Israel.

Gilbert is survived by his children: Deborah of Lynn, Elyse of Brookline, Howard of New York; step children: Louise Goodman and her husband, Michael of Lexington and William Ashman and his wife, Debbie of Littleton; grandchildren Jacob Cherry and Rebecca Cherry and step grandchildren, Jesse Goodman, Daniel, Ben and Becky Ashman.

Funeral arrangements were by the Torf Funeral Chapel 151 Washington Ave, Chelsea Interment was in Beth Shalom of Cambridge Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett. Corinne (King) Rinaldi of Revere died suddenly on May 16.

She was the devoted daughter of the late Conrad and Geraldine (Frost); dear sister of Geraldine King; loving aunt of Justin Purcell; great aunt of Chelsea Connors and great- great aunt of Ryder Connors; dear cousin of Marina Sparages and Richard Frost and beloved niece of Richard Frost, Rodney Beck and Dorothy Mullens.

Annette ( Voto) Schiavone of Revere passed away May 22.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Schiavone, she was the loving mother of Cheryl Cavallo of Revere; cherished grandmother of Marissa, Christopher and Kasey Cavallo; dear sister of Jean Mancuso and her husband, Anthony of Braintree, Richard Voto and his wife, Patricia of Revere and the late Geraldine Politano, Ralph and Anthony “Tony” Voto and Joseph Voto who survived by his wife, Marie Voto of Revere. She is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor Annette’s life by gathering Friday, May 29 in St. Michael the Archangel Chapel at the Soldiers Home Chelsea for a celebration of her life at 10 a.m. Inurnment will take place in the VA National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Giuseppe Fruciano

Retired mason

Giuseppe Fruciano of Revere died on May 19 at the Anne Mark Nusing Home. He was 90 years old.

Giuseppe immigrated to the United States from Augusta, Italy and settled in Boston’s North End before moving to Revere. He worked as a mason for many years.

The beloved husband of 65 years to Maria (Fazio), he was the devoted father of Frank and his wife, Dianne of Mexico, Diana Wilhardt and her husband, Michael of Malden, Sarah Ferullo of Revere and Joseph and his fiancé, Madeline of Saugus; dear brother of Salvatore of Augusta, Italy and the late Anthony and his surviving wife, Phyllis of Medford. He is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and one great grandchild.
