SHOTS FIRED OUTSIDE SQUIRE LOUNGE

Revere Police are investigating three gunshots discharged right outside the entrance to the Squire Lounge early Friday morning.

At around 12:41 a.m., police were called to the Squire for gunshots witnessed by several people.

Witnesses told police they observed a dark vehicle with two occupants pull up to the entrance of the strip club. One of the occupants then allegedly put a gun outside the window and fired three rounds.

Then the vehicle quickly fled the area.

Police do not believe that the shooter was shooting at anyone or anything in particular.

It remains under investigation, police said.

ARRESTED IN THE ACT OF VENGEANCE

A Glendale Street man is facing charges this week after breaking the window at his ex-girlfriend’s house and then breaking the window at her new boyfriend’s house.

Around 2:22 a.m., police were called to Revere Street for a breaking and entering report.

When police arrived, they learned that someone had broken the back window of a home on Revere Street and potentially tried to get in.

Not long after, the woman in the home learned that her new boyfriend had his window broken also.

Police began searching the area and soon found a man covered in snow and blood.

They questioned him and he turned out to be the woman’s ex-boyfriend.

Ramon Antonio Lopez, 29, of 65 Glendale St., was charged with attempting to commit a crime, disturbing the peace and two counts of malicious destruction of property over $250.

HEROIN TRAFFICKING ARREST

On Friday afternoon, at approximately 3:47 p.m., Trooper James Farrell of the State Police Barracks in Revere stopped a 2004 Volvo sedan on Walnut Street for a motor vehicle violation. The operator was identified as Charl Eliot Soto, 31, of Roxbury. A passenger was subsequently identified as Antonio Nava-Cardona, 38, of Chicago.

As a result of an investigation and assistance from Trooper Matthew Hannigan and his partner, K-9 Flash, a hidden compartment was located in the vehicle. Within the compartment, approximately 655 grams of what is believed to be heroin, was located.

Both Soto and Nava-Cardona were placed under arrest. Sergeant Edward Troy also assisted trooper Farrell on the traffic stop.

Soto and Nava-Cardona were charged with the following:

Trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium

Conspiracy to violate drug law

Both Soto and Nava-Cardona were brought to the Revere Barracks for booking. Both were held on $50,000 bail and were arraigned in Chelsea District Court.

REVERE RESIDENTS CAUGHT DUMPING AT THE FELLS

Two Revere residents are facing criminal charges stemming from flagrant illegal dumping and the shattering of large quantities of glass in the Melrose section of the Middlesex Fells Reservation, a heavily-travelled recreational area.

Yvonne Rhodes of Revere was identified after being captured on surveillance cameras that had been installed in public spaces to deter illegal dumping. Rhodes and Jason Carangelo, also of Revere, were indicted on charges of illegal dumping and receiving stolen goods. Both were arraigned this week in Malden District court.

DCR Rangers Kathyrn Ward and Mike Bruce reached out to MassDEP ESF to help deal with illegal dumping occurring in the Middlesex Fells Reservation. On July 28, 2014 and again in early August, surveillance cameras stationed in the park captured the pickup truck, license plate and clear images of the defendants pulling in to the public park site, dumping the glass panes, smashing the windows and quickly leaving the area.

Exposing the sources of illegal dumping is the goal of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) “Candid Camera Initiative,” an effort launched in 2006 by DEP’s Environmental Strike Force (ESF), in cooperation with local and state enforcement agencies. In this dumping incident, MassDEP worked with the Massachusetts Environmental Police, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.

Since 2006, ESF’s Candid Camera Initiative has identified more than 100 illegal dumpers across the Commonwealth, many of whom were subsequently fined and, in many cases, brought back to clean up their mess.

Sergeant Eric Baldwin of the MA Environmental Police and Tim Dame of MassDEP’s ESF were instrumental in the investigation of this case.

CAN AGREE ON THAT…

Three hooligans at the Sunoco station on Brown Circle seemed not to be able to agree on anything – that is – until the police arrived.

Then they were all on the same page with fighting and harassing officers.

Police responded to a major fight at the station around 4:48 a.m. on Sunday and found two men laying into one other guy.

When police arrived, the men became uncooperative and then turned their fury on police – yelling and being a general pain.

All three were arrested. Alcohol was a factor in the incident.

Daunte Scroggins-Cheers, 26, of Roslindale; and Troy Anthony Adgurson, 25, of Lynn, were both charged with affray, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.

Taiwan Blackwell, 25, of Peabody, was charged with disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct

OVER THE RAILS AND THROUGH THE WOODS

An intoxicated man drew the attention of police when he jumped off the platform at Beachmont Station and climbed through the tracks to the other side so he could make a quick exit.

Several witnesses observed the man’s actions and called police.

Police caught up to him on Furlong Drive a few blocks away and began to question him.

He was quite obviously intoxicated.

He was also carrying a knife.

Michael John Cataldo, 49, of Chelsea, was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and violating the knife ordinance.
