Moroccan American Community Fundraising Event

On Saturday, December 26th, 2014, the Moroccan American community of Greater Boston organized a Fundraising event at Revere High School to help the victims of the latest flash flood that ravaged Southern Morocco.

The event was part of a  series of events organized by Moroccan Americans across the United States of America under the slogan “Moroccan Americans United for Flood Relief”.

During the event, the organizers were able to raise $10,000, which will be added to the funds raised in other states and transferred to Morocco to help the victims of the flood through a non-profit organization called Moroccan American Forum for Relief and Development (MAFRAD).

The event was sponsored mainly by volunteers from the community including  some businesses owners from the community, such as Casablanca House of Pastry, Casablanca Restaurant, Revere House of Pastry, Omar Financial, and AAW Insurance.

The Moroccan American community of Greater Boston was honored by the presence of the Mayor of the City of Revere, Dan Rizzo and Revere City Councilor at Large, Steve Morabito. Mayor Rizzo addressed the participants with a great speech in which he indicated  that the Arab American community of his city which is mainly drawn from Moroccan Americans, is the fastest growing community in the city of Revere. He further stated that the Arab American community of the city of Revere is an important component of the large community in the city of Revere.
