Last Dance Planned at Suffolk Downs?

One of the last potential parties at Suffolk Downs will take place this Saturday night, Oct. 25, and will benefit the Boston Children’s Hospital via the NHL Alumni Pro-Am Kick Off for 2015.

Organizer Kevin Chiles said the party goes towards raising funds to get the ‘Boston Strong’ pro-am team into the tournament that typically takes place in the spring.

The benefit will feature the Deney Terrio Dance Party Band of ‘Dance with Deney’ Fame. Terrio is originally from Revere and was the main dance guru for the disco era – even teaching John Travolta all his moves for the classic ‘Stayin’ Alive’ movie.

“This is the precursor we do for fundraising every year prior to the main event, which is the NHL Alumni game in April,” said Chiles. “This will be our third year. This is also probably the last hurrah for the Suffolk Downs function room too.”

The Pro-Am has raised some $350,000 to $400,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and dancing will go until midnight. Tickets are $40 at the door, and $100 for VIP. There will be a cap of about 500 people, and tickets can be purchased online at www.dancewithdeney.com.
