Girls Hockey Day

Winthrop is holding Girls Hockey Day on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Larsen Rink at the Mike Eruzione Center and Steve Rogers, president of the Winthrop Youth Hockey Association, welcomes Revere girls, ages 8 through 18, to participate in the festivities.

There will be a hockey scrimmage and an instructional clinic so new and experienced hockey players are encouraged to attend the event. There will be pizza following the program.

Girls hockey is surging in popularity in this area, with several schools now fielding varsity teams. Winthrop officials are inviting Revere girls hockey players to compete on girls’ travel teams and in the WYHA in-house program.

Saturday’s hockey event is free.
