Arthur L. ‘Artie’ Adamson, Jr. of Revere died on Tuesday, August 12 following a long illness at the Golden Living Center of West Newton.
“Artie†was born in Winthrop and lived all of his life in Revere. He graduated from Revere High School, Class of 1971 and most of his working career was spent in the family business “Adamson Construction & Heavy Equipment†as a construction laborer. The company continues to operate led by Artie’s only brother, Randy Adamson.
He was the beloved son of Eva M. (Sargent) Adamson of Revere and the late Arthur L. Adamson; the husband of Lorraine (King) Adamson and the cherished father of Jennifer A. and the proud and devoted grandfather of: Noah, Nicolete and Olivia Adamson, all of Revere. He was the dear brother of Randy J. Adamson of Revere and Margi-Adamson-Marjoun of Lynn. He is also lovingly survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass today, August 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach Street and Winthrop Avenue) Revere. Following the Funeral Mass, interment will be at the family lot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Angelo Romano
Proprietor of Romano Roofing
Angelo Romano of Chelsea died on August 17 after a brief illness. He was 69 years old.
Angelo was the proprietor of Romano Roofing, a member the Revere Loyal Order of Moose 1272, the Sons of Italy and the VFW Mottolo Post.
He was the husband of Doris (Smith) Romano; beloved father of Maria Romano and Leslie Crespo of Revere, Angelo J. Jr. of Peabody, Alison Addario and her husband, Steven of Boxford and Janine Romano of Chelsea; loving son of the late Guiseppe and Maria (Salemi) Romano; dear brother of Carlo of Maryland and Anthony “Pino†of California; loving grandfather of Steven III, Isabella, Matthew, Ayla and an expected grandson in October. Angelo was the proprietor of Romano Roofing.
His Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Thursday, August 21 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Malfida Bell-Dinarello
Vivacious, Entertained Graciously and Shared Her Good Sense of Humor
Malfida ( DiLorenzo) Bell-Dinarello died after a ,short illness. She was 94 years old.
Mafalda, also known as Muffy, was the widow of Victor Dinarello and recent widow of Louis Bell ( August 3, 2014.) She and Lou traveled extensively, even to Israel, were good golfers and belonged to many golf clubs, both in the Boston area, and Lake Worth area. Muffy was vivacious, and entertained graciously, had many friends, was loved by many and had a very good sense of humor and shared it.
She is survived by her son, Victor and his sons Eric and James, son Frederick and his wife, Marilyn, son David, daughter Sophia, daughters Victoria and her daughter, Samantha, Andrea and son Brian and Dr. Charles A. Dinarello, world famous for his research in interleukin and sister Justin Bondi. She is also survived by step children: Steven Bell, Randee Bell, her children Eric and Elle, Debby Bell Smith, her husband Leo, and children Isis and Michael.
Muffy came from a large loving family, she was predeceased by brothers, Rocco, and Gennaro “ Muzzy,†sisters, Mary Piretti Maniaci, Josephine Barletta, Jenny DeMaria, Rachel Meyer, and Nora Fiorino. She is also loved and survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
Family and friends will honor Mafalda’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood†Funeral Home 262 Beach Street Revere at 9 a.m. today, Wednesday, before leaving in procession to St. Anthony’s Church, Revere for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in her honor at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. John Spagnola
Member of Moose and Mass Laborers Union Local 22
John R. Spagnola of Revere died at home surrounded by his family on August 12.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Revere Moose Lodge# 1272, a retired member of Massachusetts Laborers Union Local #22 and a late member of the US Army National Guard.
He was the beloved husband and best friend of Phyllis (Tardivo ) with whom he shared 46 years of marriage; loving and devoted father of Louis and John Spagnola and Lauren Brammer and her husband, Matthew of Revere; loving Papa to Sunny Brammer and Papa John to Kayleigh Brammer, all of Revere; dear brother of Louis Spagnola and his wife, Ann of York, ME and the late Anthony Spagnola; cherished son of the late Louis and Mary ( Pagliaro ) Spagnola.

James “Potsie†Geary
Retired Globe Computer Division Supervisor and Globe Santa
James J. “Potsie†Geary of Lynnfield, formerly of Revere, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 14 at his Lynnfield residence. He was 70 years old.
Born in Chelsea and raised and educated in Revere, he was a 1962 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.
His association with the Boston Globe began as a young boy as a ‘newsboy.’ Upon graduation from ICHS, he entered the work force at the Boston Globe and remained there until he retired with over 50 years of combined service. He retired as Supervisor of the Computer Division.
Jim was a member of the Quarter Century Club at the Globe and looked forward to their annual banquets. While at the Globe he became very involved with “Globe Santa.†Perhaps the greatest achievement of his career and retirement was his continued portrayal as the “Globe Santa.†Even after his retirement in 2007, he never forfeited the opportunity to continue with the joy as “Globe Santa.†Jim was also a long time member of the Revere K of C #179.
He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. “Betsey†(Calhoun) Geary who died on August 6, 2010; the devoted father of: Suzanna Landry and her husband, Mark D. of Rowley; the proud and cherished grandfather of Alyssa V., Krista M., Mark D., Jr., Susan A. and Madison D. Landry, all of Rowley. He is also lovingly survived by his aunt, Eileen M. (Stuart) Lewey of No. Falmouth, formerly of Revere, and his sister in law, Suzanne “Sue†Allen of Reading and by several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family, friends and colleagues.
