Retired Brookline Police Department Clerk; Member of Many Organizations
Evelyn Shear of Revere, formerly of Brookline and Chelsea, passed away on January 25. She was 91 years old.
Evelyn was born in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. She was a retired clerk for the Brookline Police Department for 18 years. Evelyn was a member of B’nai Brith, the Jewish War Veterans, Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home and the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. She was also a member of Congregation Kadimah Torah Moshe of Brighton and a member of the Congregation Kadimah Torah Moshe Sisterhood.
She was the beloved wife of the late Goodman Shear and the late Buddy Roberts; the devoted mother of Michael Roberts and his wife, Susan and Susan Norton and her husband, Jerry; the loving daughter of the late Israel and Ethel Frank andthe dear sister of Anna Frank, the late Lillian Witten and the late Aaron Frank.
Graveside services will be held at the Onikchty Society Cemetery, 740 Broadway, Melrose today, Wednesday, January 29 at 11 a.m. Memorial observance will be held immediately following the interment at the Jack Satter House Community Room, 420 Revere Beach Blvd. Revere. Alicia F. Matthews of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away at the Leonard Florence Center in Chelsea on January 23. She was 86 years old.
Prior to her retirement, Alicia was employed by the Boston Gas Co. as an Executive Assistant.
Born in Boston, the cherished daughter of the late Wallace and Catherine (Carter) Matthews Sr. she was the dear sister of Edna M. Dankens and her late husband, Charles of Revere, George J. Matthews and his wife, Kathleen of Manchester-by- the-Sea, Ann Regan and her late husband, Thomas of Belmont, Joan Peterson and her late husband, Frederick of North Andover, and Dr. Wallace J. Mathews Jr. and his wife, Sherry Loo of Honolulu, HI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Josephine Dionisi
Retiree of State Street Bank and Baybank, Hospital Volunteer, Spent Time at the Rosetti Senior Center
Josephine A. (Ragusa) Dionisi, a Revere resident for 58 years, passed away on Wednesday, January 22 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was 95 years old.
Born and raised in East Boston, Josephine was educated in the Boston Public Schools system. In 1940, she married Philip Dionisi, with whom she began her life and family which included a son and a daughter. They remained in East Boston until moving to Revere in 1966.
Josephine retired from State Street Bank as a Clerical Secretary after 20 years of employment. Shortly after retiring from State Street Bank, she went to work at Baybank, in the same field, for 17 years, retiring at 76 years old. For several years, Josephine dedicated her time as a volunteer at the Whidden Memorial Hospital and also would spend time at the Rossetti Senior Center.
In 2001, she lost her husband of 61 years of marriage, the late Phillip Dionisi. She was the devoted mother of: Philip R. Dionisi and his wife, Anne of Salem and Diane M. Iacuzio and her husband, Gennaro “Jerry†of Revere; the cherished grandmother of: Maria Dahlgren and her husband, Rodney, Theresa Dionisi and Christopher Dionisi, all of Salem, Deanne L. Pedersen and her husband, Thomas of North Andover and Gerald Iacuzio and his wife, Michiko of Wellesley. She was the adored great-grandmother of: Kanata, Yuna, Koga and Adrianna; the loving sister of Robert Ragusa of Peabody and the late Phyllis Salini, Margaret Spolsino and Elsie DeDonato and is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Richard Turco
Former Revere DPW Employee
Richard J. Turco of Revere died at the Chelsea Skilled Nursing and Rehabiliation Center on January 23. He was 51 years old.
Born in Quincy, he lived in Revere for most of his life and was a former employee of the City of Revere, Department of Public Works.
He was the beloved son of Joseph Turco of Milford and Joan M. (Salvatore) Gavegnano of Revere; dear and devoted brother of Karen J. Simonelli of Everett; loving uncle of Stephen Simonelli, Jr. of Everett and great uncle of Jacob Simonelli. Ricky is also survived by many loving cousins.

N.E. Tel & Tel Retiree; 50-year Member of the Revere Ladies Bowling League
Letitia “Letty†M. (Leslie) Coffey of Beachmont-Revere died on January 22 at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 89 years old.
The wife of the late Thomas Coffey and the daughter of the late Frank and Letitia (Toomey) Leslie, she was born and raised in Revere and was a lifelong Revere resident. Mrs. Coffee retired from the former New England Telephone Company where she worked as a telephone operator for 27 years. She was a member of the Revere Ladies Bowling League for 50 years and a member of the former Telephone Pioneers.
Mrs. Coffey leaves four sons: John Coffey of Norton, Robert Coffey of Bow, NH, James Coffey of Winchester and Edward Coffey of Revere; two daughters, Nancy Dedrick of Sandwich and Karen Yunits of Plymouth; one sister, Dorothy O’Donnell of Revere. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

Mildred ‘Millie’ McCormack
Proud and Devoted Wife and Mother
Mildred G. “Millie†(Voss) McCormack, a lifelong resident of Revere, died at the Whidden Memorial Hospital after a long illness on January 22. She was 93 years old.
Millie was born, raised and educated in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1938. After graduating, Millie worked various jobs and in 1946, she married her love, William J. McCormack. They remained in Revere where they began their family. Millie took great pride in being a mother and wife. She enjoyed caring for her family, cooking and maintaining her home. She raised her daughters with tremendous love and values.
In 1973, she lost her husband, William. Millie continued diligently to be the devoted mother she always was known for, to her children and grandchildren.
The wife of the late William F. McCormack, she was the loving mother of Marie E. Fletcher of Revere and Deborah J. Nickerson of Bradford; the cherished grandmother of: Lauren M. Diaz and her husband, Ricardo of Andover, Kristen E. Fletcher and her spouse, Coleen of Dracut, and Michael P. Nickerson and his wife, Sarah of Londonderry, NH and the adored great grandmother of Alex, Lola and Ava Diaz. She was the sister of the late: Dorothy M. Menier, Catherine L. Pike, Flora Boyle, Marie Voss, Ret. RPD Julius Voss, Ret. RFD Arthur Voss, William Voss, Allan Voss and George Voss and is also lovingly survived by her brother-in-law Ralph Menier of Atkinson, NH, and by many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Jessie (Belonsky) Orsini, a 60 year resident of Revere, died at the Sawtelle Family Hospice in Reading on January 20. She was 94 years old.
Jessie was born and raised in Chelsea, attended St. Stanislaus School and remained in Chelsea until her marriage to Americo “Rico†Orsini when they settled in Revere where she remained for over 60 years. Jessie took great pride and pleasure in being a homemaker and raising her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Americo “Rico†Orsini, who died in 1985; the devoted mother of: Daniel A. Orsini and his wife, Marian of Gibraltar, MI, Michael W. Orsini and his wife, Sandra A. of West Peabody, Lisa M. Corso and her husband, Robert of Middleton and the late Elaine (Orsini) Sforza and her husband, Patsy F. Sforza of Revere. She was the cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and adored great grandmother of three.

Stacy Walsh
West Newbury Resident, Died in Tragic Auto Accident
Stacy L. Walsh of West Newbury died tragically in an automobile accident on January 18 in Seabrook, NH. She was 22 years old.
Stacy was born, raised and educated in the West Newbury School system and attended the Pentucket Region High School. While growing up, Stacy had many interests and was active in many extracurricular activities and sports. She enjoyed playing soccer, gymnastics, horseback riding and cheerleading. Her passions did not stop with organized sports; she also loved photography, country music, and would frequently enjoy “Line Dancing.†She was also a well known “Boston Bruins†Fan.
Stacy was a former employee at The Atria Assisted Living Complex in Newburyport, where she worked in the kitchen and as a server. She made many of the residents smile with her warm face and beautiful smile. While she was working, she was also studying to complete her certification to become an EMT.
She was the most beloved daughter of Richard M. Walsh and Lorna M (D’Apolito) of West Newbury and the cherished sister of Matthew R. Walsh of West Newbury; the loving granddaughter of Phyllis M. Walsh of Revere and the late Laurence E. Walsh and the late Raymond and Lorraine R. (Babine) D’Apolito. She is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins and was the adored friend to many.

Major Samuel Moschella, U.S.A.F. (Retired)
We celebrate his life, his accomplishments and his passions.
Major Samuel R. Moschella, U.S.A.F. (retired) of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Revere, died peacefully on January 19. He was 83 years old.
“Sam†was born December 10, 1930 and was raised in Revere. He enlisted in the US Air Force at a young age and served in the Korean War and for two tours in Vietnam as a specialist in EOD. While serving at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, he met the love of his life, Gale Tutty.
Major Samuel was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and he was a decorated officer. Sam’s service and travels brought him all over the world from Europe to Guam before retiring while living in Maryland in 1970.
After retiring, Sam returned to his roots in Revere, founded the Chelsea/Revere Home Care Center and became the City Auditor before moving to Florida in 1979. Sam was appointed the City Finance Director and later the City Manager in Margate, Florida. He enjoyed playing as much golf as possible.
Sam and Gale moved to Palm Bay, Florida where he was a member at Patrick Air Force base and enjoyed golf at Manatee Cove Country Club. He was also an accomplished writer and wrote and published “Pass In Review,†a realistic fiction novel.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His passion for his family, his dedication to his country and his never ending desire for the perfect golf game will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Sam is survived by his wife, Gale Tutty Moschella. He was the loving father to Moira Gianelli and her husband, Stephen, of South Hamilton, and Kristine Murray and her husband, Tim, of Beverly. He was the grandfather of Michael, Nicolas and Alexander Gianelli and Griffin and Colin Murray. He was the youngest child of six of Carmine Moschella and Josephine Sorrentino and is survived by one sister, Louise DiBlasi, and one brother, Carmine Moschella and by many nephews and nieces.
A military memorial service and burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a date to be determined. A Celebration of Sam’s Life was held at the home of dear friends, Brent and Joe Libasci, on Thursday, January 23 in Palm Bay, Florida.

Rose Lindholm
Homemaker and Lifelong Chelsea Resident
Rose E. (Palermo) Lindholm died Monday, January 20 in Lanessa Extended Care, Webster surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old.
She was born in the family home in Chelsea, the youngest child of Ignazio and Giovanna (Spinelli) Palermo and lived there all her life until moving to Webster last year. Mrs. Lindholm was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and completing crossword puzzles.
Her husband of 20 years, the late Arthur W. Lindholm, died in 1966. She had four children, including a son, Robert P. Lindholm and a daughter, Karen A. Christie Bartholomew and her husband, Paul Bartholomew; seven grandchildren, including Robin Lush and her husband, Paul; six great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur C. Lindholm in 2003, by a sister and by three brothers.

Lifelong Revere Resident
Eileen (Clarke) Gannon passed away on January 13. She was 86 years old.
Eileen was born on November 27,1927 to the late Thomas M. and Elsie Clarke. A life long resident of Revere, she graduated from the Immaculate Conception School, class of 1947.
Eileen was the wife of the late Patrick Gannon of South Boston and sister of the late Gladys Maguire and Thomas F Clarke. She is survived by her sisters: Marilyn Leyden, Dorothy Benoit and her brother, Robert Clarke.
Her Funeral was private. A mass will be said for her at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.

Nona Grace Hobbs
Of New Hampshire, formerly of Winthrop
Nona Grace Hobbs of Mayhew Road, Campton, NH, died suddenly on January 18 at her home. She was 55 years old.
Born in Queens, NY on October 15, 1958, the daughter of Ronald Stewart and the late Joyce Grace (Simpson) Campbell, Nona grew up in Winthrop and graduated from Duxbury High School, Class of 1976. She attended the Laconia Vocational Technical School in Laconia and had recently graduated from the NH Food Safety Course.
Nona went to work at the Tenney Mountain Seafood Center, Plymouth and then owned and operated the Seafood Center for many years. For the past eight years, Nona has been volunteering at the Plymouth Area Community Food Pantry. She was a member of the Plymouth Lodge of Elks #2312 in Holderness.
She is survived by her son, John J. Ramsey III, of Thornton, her father, Ronald of Revere; brothers, Lloyd Campbell of Loyalton, CA, James J. Campbell of Thornton; sister, Cynthia Gold of Revere, several nieces and nephews and her fiancé Ted B. Gauthier of Campton.

Bruna Delise
Seamstress; Worked at Don Orione Home Later in Life
Bruna ( Lugnani) Delise of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on January 26.
Bruna was born in Italy to the late Luigi and Beatrice (Dagri) Lugnani and came to the United States in 1956. She briefly lived in Boston’s North End before settling in East Boston. She worked as a seamstress for many years in clothing stores such as Kennedys, Louis of Boston and Brooks Brothers. Later in life, she worked at the Don Orione Home.
The beloved wife of the late Mario, she was the devoted mother of Dr. Claudio and his wife, Joan of Concord and Elvio and his wife, Charlotte of Londonderry, NH; dear sister of Giusepina Lugnani and Maria Lugnani, both of Italy and is also survived by four loving grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Robert ‘Bobby’ Casoli
US Navy Department Retiree
Robert “Bobby†T. Casoli entered into rest on Monday, January 27 at the Soldier’s Home in Chelsea. He was 83 years old.
The loving husband of Marie “Mary†(Mongiello) Casoli with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, he was born and raised in Revere, the son of the late Michael and Maria (Fiorentino) Casoli. He was a Korean War veteran serving on the USS Okanogan-APA 220. He was employed by the US Navy Dept. of Defense where he retired as a superintendant after 40 years of service for Sup-Ship Boston and was a boilermaker by trade at the Boston Naval Shipyard. He was a proud member of NARFE (National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees), USS Okanogan-APA 220 organization, American Legion Post 61, US Naval Memorial, Korean War Memorial and the Lone Star Sailor.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Casoli leaves one daughter, Maryann Casoli of Revere; two sons, Michael Casoli and his wife, Doreen of Saugus and Robert Casoli and his wife, Janice of Lynnfield; three grandchildren: Erin, Michael and his wife, Danielle and Kati and her fiancé, Dana; two great grandsons: Michael and Matthew; two brothers, Michael “Mickey†Casoli and Richard Casoli, both of Revere; one sister, Ann Casoli of Revere. He also leaves behind many Okie “Okanogan†brothers from throughout the USA, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peter Raimondi, Jr.
Had Long and Successful Electronic Security and Military Careers
Peter J. Raimondi, Jr. passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 26 after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. He was 87 years old.
Peter, who resided in Winthrop for more than 50 years before moving to Revere, joined the US Army on D-Day and served in Europe toward the end of World War II. He remained involved with the military for many years serving 37 years in the Mass National Guard and retiring as a Captain. He was a member of the 182 Infantry Regiment of Melrose. He very much enjoyed being part of the military and helping others as he did in the Blizzard of 1978 driving an Army truck throughout Winthrop aiding in the evacuation of Point Shirley and Winthrop Shore Drive.
Peter had a long and successful career in the electronic security business first with Sonaguard and then as the owner of IDS where he provided employment for several of his children for many years. Peter was instrumental in creating the first unified association for the Alarm System owners which paved the way for a Massachusetts Security System licensing for both companies and individuals. He has been a long-time member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks. Peter and Erma enjoyed many years of travel which took them on exciting cruises and trips back to his family’s homeland in Italy. The past 25 years he enjoyed the winters and the warmth in the Palm Beach area where he and Erma acquired many friendships. Peter will be sorely missed by all.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Erma of 66 years and their four sons: John and his longtime partner, Ralph Cantin of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Randy and his wife, Donna of Winthrop; Peter III and his wife, Christine of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and William and his wife, Kathleen of Revere. He also leaves seven grandchildren and three adoring great-grandchildren especially his great-grandson, Ayden who visited him daily. He also leaves his sister, Margie Giambroni and brothers: Richard and his wife, Fredda and Vincent and his wife, Leslie. Peter was born to the late Mary and Peter Raimondi in Boston on January 18, 1927. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Carl, Murray, Joe, John and Albert and sisters Ann, Rose, and Virginia. He also leaves many caring and loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, February 1 from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St. Winthrop from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Madeline Elsden

Madeline Elsden of Round Rock TX formerly of Revere, 98 glorious years young, passed away at home in Round Rock TX on Sunday January 26 2014. Madeline worked at GE for 10 years during the 1940’s, and became the matriarch of both her birth house and our family house. Madeline (Momzee/Mabbe) had a bouquet of people from Godchildren to friends who made her life richer. She will be truly missed and loved by all. In lieu of flowers she would like to have donations sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis TN. The loving mother of surviving son John, daughters Connie Elsden and Mary Ann Westwater, Sister Beatrice Melanson and her daughters Susan and Pauline and their families. Madeline was preceded in death by loving husband John W Elsden, mother Mary and father Frank Onthank, sister Mildred Onthank, brothers who were veterans of WWII Gerald and Norman Onthank, and many dear friends young and old. Madeline will be interred at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody during April with no wake with date announced at a later time.
