Lorraine Dauwer

Lorraine M. Dauwer of Revere died on December 29.

A late employee of Philip Light Co. of Lynn,  she was the cherished daughter of the late William N. and Mildred ( Hood) Dauwer, loving sister of Pauline Russo of Saugus, William Dauwer and Robert Dauwer and his wife, Phyllis all of Revere; adored aunt of many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grand nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach Street, Revere today, Thursday, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends may visit today from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Doris Longo

Of Revere, formerly of East Boston

Doris M. (Tracia ) Longo of Revere,  formerly of East Boston, died on December 27.

The beloved wife of the late Vincent L. Longo with whom she shared 45 years of marriage, she was the loving mother of Phillip Longo and his wife, Maria of Revere and Carol Longo of East Boston. Dear sister of Constance Mancuso and Clara “Debby” Lally both of Medford and the late Helen Forgione and Ana Ciampa and the cherished grandmother of Danielle, Phillip and Gabrielle Longo.

Arlene Culliton

Tufts Medical Center Employee

Arlene G. (Mucci) Culliton of Revere died at home with her family on December 30.

A graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1972 and an employee of Tufts Medical Center, she was the beloved wife of Michael A.; devoted mother of Christopher Culliton of Revere; dear sister of Norma Coscia of Ohio, Peter Mucci of Las Vegas and Alfred Mucci of N. Andover; cherished daughter of the late Gaetano and Doris (Tyacke) Mucci; step daughter of Elaine Mucci of Florida; step sister of Robin Turbitt of New Hampshire and Roy Gagne of Saugus and is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Thursday, January 3 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Joseph Bullock

Past Commander of VFW Post 6712, Beachmont

Joseph P. Bullock of Beachmont, Revere  died on Thursday, December 27 at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He was 83 years old.

The husband of Barbara (Appley) Bullock, he was born in Boston the son of the late William & Rose (Boitano) Bullock.

He worked as a realtor with Century 21 DeMarco, was a resident of Beachmont for the last 30 years, a US Army veteran and the Past Commander of VFW Post #6712 in Beachmont.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bullock leaves three daughters, Patricia Farnsworth of Mississippi, Paula Stevenson  and Robin Bullock, both of Louisiana and two sons, Steven Bullock of Oregon and Eric Bullock of California; two grandchildren, Jordan Stevenson and Shane Farnsworth. He was the step-father of Sharon Schenna and her husband, Anthony, Cathy Ochoa and her husband, Ron, Billy Earle and his wife,  Holly and was the brother of the late William Bullock.

John Lovetere, Jr.

Former Proprietor of Angelo’s Gulf Station of Winthrop and Andy’s Gas Station in Revere

John J. Lovetere, Jr. of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on Decemer 21 following a long illness. He was 83 years old.

Born and raised in East Boston and educated in Boston Schools, he entered the US Army in July of 1946 and served until January of 1948. Most of his life was engaged in auto mechanics. He co-owned and operated his own gas station in Winthrop known as “Angelo’s Gulf Station” on Pauline Street with his brother, “Angelo” who died several years ago. He also had an association with Andy’s Gas Station” on Broadway, Revere.

At the age of 59, he began a new career with the Winchester Office of the Food & Drug Administration as a sample custodian. Only because of poor health did he retire at age 81.

He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Audrey E. (Fogarty); devoted father of Joyce J. Misci and her husband, John and Elizabeth A. Pesce, all of Revere; devoted grandfather of: Melyssa J. Perkins and her husband, Jamie of West Peabody, Bryan A. Misci and his wife, Kim of Lynn, Krystin L. and Adam M. Misci and Tyla Elizabeth Pesce, all of Revere; dear brother of Joseph Lovetere and his wife, Rose of Brockton, Francis Lovetere and his wife, Joanne, Charles Lovetere and his wife, Charlene, James Lovetere and Jimmy, Thomas Lovetere and his wife, Donna, all of Florida and the late Angelo Lovetere. He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Lovetere of Florida and by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Brian O’Hara

Delta Airlines Retiree

Brian V. O’Hara of Peabody, formerly of Revere, died on December 26. He was 74 years old.

A member of Revere High School,  Class of 1957 and a Delta Air Lines retiree, he was born in Revere, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Calo) O’Hara; the beloved husband of Marlene (Beatrice); devoted father of Brian D. and Jill O’Hara; loving grandfather of Kaleb O’Hara, all of Peabody; dear brother of Edward of Revere, Mark of Peabody, Maureen Butler of Stoneham, Kevin of Revere and the late Marcella Dion and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.Funeral arrangements were by the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home,Revere. Ida Shuman

Active in Many Organizations

Ida H. (Solomon) Shuman died on December 27. She was 887 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Philip Solomon and Bessie (Glassman), she was a native of Revere but lived in Everett for 32 years. She was educated in Chelsea Schools, graduated from Chelsea High School and  enlisted in the US Army in 1949. She served our country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1951.

Ida was very active in many organizations; Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home Life Member, Everett Hadassah, B’Nai Brith Women Past Service Commander-Everett #187, Past Sgt of Arms War Chapter #14 Bay State, Congregation Tifereth Israel of Everett Sisterhood, Congregation Agudos Shalom Chelsea, Disabled American’s Veterans Assoc.-American Legion #176 Assoc Member 152nd Infantry Assoc. Past Commander, Chelsea Post J.W.V #71, a member of the Korean War Veterans Malden Post #74 and a member of the AARP.

She was the beloved wife of the late William Shuman; devoted mother of Marc M. Shuman of Melrose; loving Aunt of Michael and Marjorie Solomon of Winthrop; sister of the late Sylvia Solomon; loving cousin of Adele Forosisky and family of Revere and the loving grandmother of William Ahearn.

Robert Rice

38-Year Boston Globe Employee

Robert E. Rice of Revere died at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital on December 25. He was 63 years old.

A graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1967, he was a former 38 year employee of the Boston Globe.

He was the beloved husband of Veronica (Kelleher); devoted father of Robert Jr. and his wife Gail, of New Hartford, NY, William and his wife, Pamela of Saugus and his step daughter, Gianna Hughes of Revere; dear brother of Richard Rice of Florida and Elizabeth Rice of Billerica; son of the late James and Doris (Thayer) and is also survived by five loving grandchildren: Michael, Casey, Ciara, Samantha and Madelyn.

Adeline Corrado

Former Boston Public Library Employee

Adeline R. Corrado of Revere died on December 24 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital.  She was 89 years old.

Born in East Boston, she graduated from Revere High School, Class of 1942 and was a former employee of the Boston Public Library.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale and Lucy (Fredestefano) Corrado; devoted sister of John E. and his wife, Paula and Joseph P. and his wife, Ann all of Revere and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
