Antonina ‘Nina’ Pesaturo

Of Revere, formerly of Orient Heights

Antonina “Nina” (Cammarata) Pesaturo of Revere, formerly of Orient Heights, East Boston, died on August 18.

She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred “Fred” Pesaturo with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; loving mother of Vincent Pesaturo and his wife, Bernadette and Michael Pesaturo and his wife, Penny, all of Rowley; dear sister of the late Catherine Paserello, Rita Lanavaro and Salvatore Cammarata; cherished grandmother of Michael and Brian Pesaturo and great grandmother of Andrew and Kaylyn Pesaturo.

Her Funeral will be held from Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St., Revere, Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church, Revere at noon. Rina Gasparini

Of Saugus, formerly of East Boston

Rina  ( Agostinelli ) of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died on August 18. She was in her 96 year.

The beloved wife of the late Dante Gasparini with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, she was the loving mother of Catherine Ward of Salem, dear sister of Ralph Agostinelli of East Boston, Mary Pecoraro of Revere and the late Dolores Mazzarini and Arthur Agostinelli; cherished grandmother of Kimberly Lovett and Karen Ward and her fiancé, Dr. Mark Sanner and great grandmother of Landon Lovett.

James Vacirca

Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston

James Vacirca of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, went peacefully home to the Lord on August 19 surrounded by his loving family. He was in his 85th year.

He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Colella); cherished son of the late Agrippina and Felice Vacirca; devoted father of Jay and his wife, Denise Vacirca and Anthony and his wife, Kelli Vacirca, all of Saugus; dear brother of the late Joseph, Michael, Mary, Helen and John; adored grandfather of Anthony James Vacirca. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mildred Onthank

Worked for former Jordan Marsh and as Matron for the Charles Street Jail

Mildred M. Onthank went to be with the Lord on her 99th birthday, August 18 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Revere.

Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Fox) Onthank. She worked as a sales associate for the former Jordan Marsh Company and as a matron for the Charles Street Jail in Boston. She was a lifelong resident of Revere.

Ms. Onthank leaves two sisters, Madeline Elsden and Beatrice Melanson, both of Revere. She was the aunt of Susan Rivers and Pauline Minch, both of Lowell, John Elsden of Texas and the late Eileen Melanson and Laurel Melanson; the great aunt of Brenda Hamel, Colleen Dalton, Joseph Melanson, Michelle Maguire, Joy George, Richard Grant, Katherine Lee and Killian Minch and is also survived by many great grand nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Guadalupe Arana, Carol Giordano and Diane Huttenro.

Mark Amsden

Former Altar Server and Member of St. Anthony’s Youth Band

Mark J. Amsden of New Hampshire, formerly of Revere, died unexpectedly at home on August 12. He was 43 years old.

Born in Chelsea, he was raised and educated in Revere and was a 1987 graduate of Revere High School. As a young boy, he and his brother, Stephen S. were altar servers at St. Anthony of Padua Church and were also members of the St. Anthony’s Youth Band. He lived in New Hampshire for the past three years.

He was the beloved son of Craig D. Amsden of Saugus and Joanne (Crisostano) Amsden of Winthrop; devoted brother of Stacy A. Amsden of Winthrop and Stephen S. Amsden and his wife, Penny of Revere and is also lovingly survived by his step mother Joan M. Amsden of Saugus, three nephews, Jonathan R., Steven C. and Devin L. and one niece, Samantha-Jo Amsden as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ann Hudson

Of Saugus, formerly of Revere

Ann M. (Vigliotti) Hudson of Saugus, formerly of Revere and Everett, died on August 18 at Hammersmith Nursing Care Center. She was 92 years old..

A homemaker, she was born in Revere, the daughter of the late Antonio and Josephine (Vigliotta) Vigliotti; the beloved wife of the late John E.; devoted mother of Joyce M. Hudson of Saugus, John E. Hudson Jr. and his wife, Sharon Snuffer of Texas; loving grandmother of Joshua E. Hudson and his wife, Sarah of Arizona; cherished great grandmother of Asher Hudson; dear sister of the late Marie Rappa, Vincenzo Vigliotti, Lena Beatrice and Louise Pennington and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

James Maltais

Vermont Resident

James E. Maltais of Salisbury, VT died unexpectedly on August 14 at his home. He was 52 years old.

“Jimmy” graduated from Everett High School and became a butcher by trade. He co-owned “The Meat Shop” of Everett with his brother, Billy and was also employed by Star Market and Shaw’s grocery stores. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Chelsea and enjoyed boating and spending time with his family and friends.

Born on January 13, 1960 in Revere, he was the son of the late William E. and Valma E. (Dwire) Maltais. He is survived by his siblings; twin sister, Jane McCormick of Melrose, Michelle Roccia of Lynnfield and Priscilla Cooper and her husband, Steve of Natick, Billy Maltais of Newbury, Richard Maltais and his wife, Faustina of Saugus and Kenny Maltais and his wife, Diane of Billerica. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

His Funeral was held at the First Congregational Church,  Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Hope Lodge, 237 East Avenue Burlington, VT 05401. Robin Kinney

New Hampshire Resident

Robin M. Kinney of Merrimack, NH, died on August 13. She was 48 years old.

She was born in Boston on October 18, 1963, daughter of Joseph and the late Marianne (Gregory) DiLeo and was employed by the Department of Defense for 30 years, most recently as a DOD Contract Supervisor at DCMA in Manchester, NH.

Preceded in death by her brother, John Gregory who died in 2003, she was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who is survived by her husband of 25 years, Michael Kinney; two sons, Patrick Kinney and Christopher Kinney, all of Merrimack, NH; father and step-mother. Joseph and Doreen DiLeo of North Port, Florida; her sisters and brothers: Debra Austin and Thomas Austin of Revere and Steven DiLeo and Julie DiLeo of Medford,  William Giannetto and his wife, Deborah Celeste DeMarzo and Ernest Giannetto, all of Everett and her sister and brother-in-law Linda and Kurt Hulteen of Eagle River, AK and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also the Godmother of Joseph Salvadore of Revere, Meghan Richardson of Andover, NH, Danielle DeMarzo of East Boston, and Madeline Hughes of Melrose.

Carol Kearns

Member of Revere Seniors

Carol A. (Wilson) Kearns, a 50-year resident of Revere, formerly of Lowell, died on August 13 at the Shaughnessey Rehab of Cambridge following a long illness. She was 79 years old.

Born in Boston, she lived in Lowell in her early life and came to Revere 50 years ago. She was a ‘stay at home mom’ raising her three children and was a member of the Revere Seniors at the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center. Her family is most grateful for the extraordinary attention the members and administrators have shown her over the years.

She was the cherished mother of James E. “Eddie” Kearns and his fiancée, Barbara Mahoney of Salem, NH and Stoneham, MA, Catherine E. Fiore and her husband, Alessio of Wilmington, Frederick W. Kearns Jr. and his wife, Annette of Portsmouth, RI; beloved partner of the late Richard Avellino; dear mother in law of the late Stella Kearns; devoted grandmother of Kellyann Fiore and her husband, Eddie Thomas of Stoneham, Kristina A. McLaughlin and her husband, Ryan of Hudson, NH, Christopher M. and Matthew Kearns, both of Portsmouth, RI and is also lovingly survived by two great granddaughters, Kalli Kearns and Gracie McLaughlin. Patricia E. (Battista) Bolton of Revere died on August 13. The cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Longo) Battista, she was the loving mother of Jay Bolton and his wife, Doreen of Revere and Lynne Richardson and her husband, Michael of Plymouth; dear sister of Carol Pedi  of Plymouth and her late husband, Paul and Gerald Battista and his wife, Margaret of Revere; cherished grandmother of Anthony, Juliana, Sofia and Isabella Bolton and Shane and Ainsley Richardson.

Alexander Capossela, Sr.

Member of the “Mambo Duces” and Wonderland and Suffolk Downs Retiree

Alexander F. Capossela, Sr. (AKA Bobby Santo) died unexpectedly on August 18 after being stricken at his Revere home.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he attended schools in the Boston area.  For more than 55 years, he was associated with Suffolk Downs Race Track and Wonderland Dog Track serving as a Mutuals Clerk in their Mutuals Departments. He relocated to Florida in the 1960s and 1970s  where he worked at several Florida tracks.

Early in his career, he and two other friends formed a “Dance Trio” known as “Mambo Duces” which performed professionally on the Boston Pop scene in supper clubs, night clubs and for private social clubs and events. The Trio specialized in and featured Ballroom and Latin American dancing and won many awards in competitions and demonstrations throughout the state from the 1940’s through the 1960’s.

Mr. Capossela was the devoted husband of 32 years to Patricia A. (Ross) Capossela; the cherished father of Alexander F. “Alex” Capossela, Jr., Lauren M. Capossela and Robert E. Capossela, all of Revere, the dear brother of Marie Capossela and Eleana Sutera, both of Boston’s North End and the late Louise DiCenso, who died on July 7, 2012, Margaret Lanni, Lana Perroso and Carmine Capossela. He was the beloved brother in law of Robert W. Ross of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mary Lou Ross and her companion, Thomas Prizio and Cynthia M. Ross, all of Revere and the late Edward Ross, Jr. and is also lovingly survived by many caring nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Angela Perullo

Member of Patriot Civic Club, School Food Service Department Retiree

Angela M. (Giaquinto) Perullo of Revere died recently. She was 96 years old.

A late employee of the Revere Public Schools Food Service Department, although she did not have children of her own, her many devoted nieces and nephews regarded her as a second mom, and will cherish the memories of holidays, home cooked Sicilian meals and the special relationship they had with their aunt. Love ya Aunt Ang.

She was the beloved wife of the late George J.; devoted daughter of the late Sebastiano and Maria (Fallazza) Giaquinto; dear sister of the late Salvatore Giaquinto, Anthony Giaquinto, Joseph Giaquinto, Pauline Serino and Florence Terranova and is also survived by many loving and cherished nieces and nephews.

Nicholas Restuccia of Centerville died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 20.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of Theresa (Cappuccio); cherished son of the late Antonino and Josephine Restuccia; devoted father of Nicholas Jr. and his wife, Lillian of Lynnfield, Jane Restuccia of New York, NY and Joan Restuccia and her husband, Franco Ferrara of Milan, Italy; adored grandfather of Joseph and Paul and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
