Alfred J. Morelli of Medford, formerly of East Boston, died on June 29.

A US Navy veteran of World War II and the retired City of Boston Parks and Recreations Superintendent, he was the beloved husband of Claire (Phillips) Morelli with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; loving father of Chuck and his wife, Ret. Sgt. Detective Maureen Parolin, Vermonda Williams of Medford and Susan and her husband, Joseph Doiron of Billerica; dear brother of Norma D’Amico of Saugus; cherished grandfather of six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two angels. Joseph Sampson

Revere Resident

Joseph E. Sampson of Revere, formerly of Hyde Park, died on June 16.

He was the devoted son of the late Joseph and Anna Sampson; devoted husband of the late Janet Kennedy; brother of Mary Sampson; uncle of Jessica Sampson Thierry and is also survived by his uncle, John Sampson, his aunt, Madeline Bangs, many cousins, his wife’s family, and many friends.

Thomas Kirk

Thomas F. Kirk of Charlestown died suddenly on June 25.

He was the beloved son of the late William “Nemo” and Alice (Keough) Kirk; devoted brother of William Kirk of York Beach, Maine, Patricia Reynolds of Melrose, Kathleen Kirk of Revere, Michael Kirk of Melrose and the late Francis and Arthur Kirk.

Burial was private with arrangements by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown.

Pamela Joy Matoba

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Winthrop and East Boston

Pamela Joy (Davis) Matoba of Concord, New Hampshire died June 27 after a sudden illness. She was 53 years old.

Born on July 19, 1958 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Alvin “Pinky” Davis and Eleanor (Cadigan) (Davis) Swartz of Florida. She grew up and attended schools in Winthrop, raised her family in East Boston and moved to Concord, NH in the mid 1990s. She adored her children and grandchildren, was an avid reader, loved nature, flowers, animals, and playing bingo, scrabble and cards.

She leaves three children: Sean Hunter, Derek Hunter and Kimberly Polsonetti Campbell; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Michael Hunter; three sisters, Judy Doyle, Rona Swartz and Jo-El Swartz; her nieces and nephews, Timmy, Danny and Christy Doyle and Joshua Duff; her aunts and uncle, Helen Cadigan, Mary Hodgkins, Patricia Cadigan, Joan Cadigan, the late John Cadigan and Ann Marie Cadigan; and her cousins, Lisa, Susan and Karen.

Anthony ‘Narny’ Pasquale

Asphalt Specialist and Hard Working FamilyMan

Anthony M. “Narny” Pasquale died unexpectedly at his Revere home on June 29. He was 74 years old.

A US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era who served from July of 1964 until August of 1967, he was born in East Boston and lived in Revere for more than 60 years. His working career began as a young boy with his father, Michele Pasquale, who died in August of 1982, as a vendor in Boston’s Market District. Later, he worked as an asphalt specialist for Coppola Construction of Revere and for several other area contractors. Happiest when working and always working, he was a dedicated family man providing for his entire family and his extended family.

He was the cherished father of Carmille R. and Michael Pasquale, Stephen J. Pasquale and his wife, Carla M. and Linda R. Guarino and her husband, Michael, all of Revere; dear brother of Michael Pasquale of Arizona, Rose DiNapoli of Revere and the late Nicholas Pasquale. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren: Gianna M. Pasquale and Michael Anthony Guarino, both of Revere.

He was the son of the late Michele and Rose (Rossetti) Pasquale.

Frank Megna, Jr.

Avid Mororcycle and Auto Enthusiast, Member of Elks and Amvets

Frank F. Megna, Jr. of Winthrop died suddenly on June 27. He was 72 years old.

Born in Boston, he attended Boston Schools and graduated from East Boston High School, Class of 1958. He was an avid motorcycle and auto enthusiast who worked most of his life as an autobody man in many of the autobody shops in East Boston, Chelsea and Winthrop. He was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078 and the Winthrop Amvets Post 48.

He was the dear son of the late Frank Sr. and Grace Megna and husband of Rosemarie (Tate); devoted father of Gracemarie Megna of Marlborough, Frederick and his wife, Jackie of Arizona and Michael and his wife, Kathy of Marlborough and is also survived by two brothers, Richard and Robert Megna of East Boston. He was the brother of the late Anthony Megna and the loving fiancé of Sharon Belger of Winthrop. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Joseph R. Frazier Funeral Home, 174 Winthrop St., Winthrop, today, Tuesday, July 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. An Elks service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to the N.E. Of Florida, formerly of East Boston

William F. Martino of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, formerly of East Boston, died on May 26.

He was the beloved husband of the late Florence G. (DeMattia) Martino; devoted father of William R. Martino of Revere, Linda A. Quigley of Miami, FL, Florence G. Martino of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Donna T. Arone of Saugus, Edward E. Martino of Saugus, Michael A. Martino of West Peabody and Richard Martino of Saugus; adored grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of eight.

Winifred Perkins-Gard

Retired Bookkeeper

Winifred A. (Infantino) Perkins-Gard, formerly of East Boston, Saugus, Wilmington and Limerick, ME, died at the Academy Manor Nursing Home of Andover on June 27 following a long illness. She was 82 years old.

Born in Winthrop, she was raised, spent more than 45 years in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School, Class of 1947. Most of her working career was spent as a bookkeeper for the former Carmel Credit Union of Chelsea, retiring after 25 years of service. After leaving East Boston, she moved to Saugus, Wilmington and Limerick, Maine before moving with her husband to her daughter’s home in Tewksbury in 2008.

She was the beloved wife of 30 years of Richard L. Perkins and the wife of the late Joseph M. Gard; cherished mother of Susan J. Nota and her husband, Thomas of Tewksbury and JoAnn Gard and her partner, Harry R. Dunham of Assonet, MA; devoted grandmother of Gregory T. Nota and his wife, Dyanne of Dracut, Christopher R. Nota and his wife, Kerry of North Andover, Thomas C. Nota and his wife, Sarah of Stoughton and Harry E. Dunham of Assonet, MA; dear sister of Joseph J. Infantino and his wife, Dottie of Spring Hill, Florida and the late May F. McDaniel and Ann R. Davis. She is also lovingly survived by her great grandson, Ryan G. Nota and by many nieces and nephews.

John T. “Bro Sasso” Sasso of Everett, formerly East Boston, died on June 27.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Winthrop Elks and former co-owner of Bro-Lens Service Station.

He was the beloved husband of Geraldine “Geri” (Falzone) Sasso with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; loving brother of Jean Skalecki and her husband, Mitchell of Hamilton and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Phillip Oddo

Of Revere, formerly of Boston’s West End

Phillip A. Oddo of Revere, formerly of Boston’s West End, died on June 26. He was 78 years old.

A proud veteran of the US Army, he owned and operated many bars and taverns in the Boston area and was a lifelong dedicated member of the West End Camp.

The son of the late Rose (Serio) and Benedetto Oddo, he was predeceased by his sisters: Marianna “Tootsie” Gentile, Kathryn Maggio and his brothers, Salvatore, Nicholas “Buddy,” Benedict “Chubby,” and his twin, Anthony Oddo, all of whom were proud war veterans. He is survived by many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.

John ‘Jack’ Kelley

Of California, formerly of Revere

John “Jack” Kelley died at his California home on June 14. He was 81 years old.

A US Navy veteran, he retired from Singer Librascope after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 55 years and enjoyed golf, snow skiing, boating and family time.

Born in Revere on December 13, 1930, the oldest of two children of John R. and Florence Kelley, he is survived by his wife, Dorothea (Chickie) Kelley; his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Griffin and her husband, Thomas of Revere; his sons, Ken, Jimmy and Shawn and his daughters, Gayle, Erin and Tammy; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial was held on June 20 at St. Clare Church, Clarita, California. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 would be appreciated.

James F. Thompson of Chelsea, formerly of East Boston, died on June 24.

He was the cherished son of Mary (Gleeson) Thompson of Texas and the late James Thompson; dear brother of Donna Quigley of East Boston, Linda Mastrangelo of Chelsea and Lu-Ann Wilson of Texas.

Agnes Dares

Member of Ladies Auxiliary of Beachmont VFW Post 6712

Agnes V. Dares, a lifelong resident of Revere, died on June 23 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere following a short illness. She was 92 years old.

Born in Worcester, she lived in Beachmont for most of her life. During her working career, she was employed by the former Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Transitron of East Boston and Hub-Mail of Boston. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Beachmont VFW Post 6712.

She was the wife of the late Harry S. Dares who died in June of 1994; devoted mother of Verna B. Bartlett and her late husband, Benjamin T. Bartlett III of Kingston, NH; the cherished grandmother of Allen S. Pike and his wife, Elizabeth of Pittsburg, NH, Wayne S. Pike of Strafford, NH, Raymond Pike and his wife, Kerry of Raymond, NH, Benjamin T. Bartlett IV and his wife, Heather of Nottingham, NH, Kimberly A. Bartlett of Epping, NH and the late Debora A.V. Bartlett. She is also lovingly survived by 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Clarice Copello

World War II English War Bride

Clarice (Howe) Copello, a longtime Chelsea resident, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old.

Born and raised in Yorkshire, Bradford England, she attended schools there. During World War II, she married American serviceman, John P. Copello. As a war bride, she came to the United States aboard the Queen Mary in 1945. She settled in Chelsea with her husband and together they raised their family here. A loving wife and mother, she was devoted to her home and family and also spent time working outside of the home for Marsons Corp. and Gorins, located in Chelsea. She enjoyed playing Bingo, frequent trips to Foxwoods and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of the late John P. Copello, Sr.; devoted mother of Helen Fahey and her husband, George of Saugus, Anna Marie Breen of Lynn, Joanne Ely and her husband, Larry of Everett, Paula MacDonald and Reynold Difilippo of Revere, Patricia Muse and her husband Larry of Maine and the late Catherine Ippolito and John P. Copello Jr.; dar sister of Helen of Yorkshire, England and the late Frank, James, Walter, Norman, Catherine, Jenny, Hannah and Sarah. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Her Funeral will begin from the Cardinal Cushing Pavilion in St. Michael the Archangel Chapel, 91 Crest Ave. Chelsea on Friday, July 6 at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
