Stabbing victim heads to court

A man who got stabbed by his girlfriend will be sorting out their differences in Chelsea District Court after both were charged in a domestic incident on the Boulevard last Saturday.

Police responded to 332 Boulevard at 9 p.m. on Saturday for a man suffering from a stab wound to his leg.

That was indeed the case, and the man told officers he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend, Judith Forte, and she ended up stabbing him.

Forte was arrested on the scene for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Likewise, the victim was also charged and will be summoned to court for the same charges.

Man resists arrest

A Sumner Street man has been arrested and charged with a laundry list of serious charges for an alleged domestic situation that involved a woman and a 9-year-old boy.

Police arrived on the scene around 9:15 p.m. on Friday night and a frightened boy approached them and led them to an apartment on the first floor of 23 Sumner St.

The man inside immediately put up a fight and resisted officers from taking him into custody, though he was eventually subdued.

He had alleged gotten into an argument with his wife and allegedly assaulted her and the boy.

Theodore Klash, 26, was charged with assault to commit a felony, assault and battery on a child with injuries, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, assault and mayhem.

Not all hunky dory

All witnesses could tell police was that they had seen a woman being dragged into an elevator by a man, and it was enough to bring a heavy police response to an apartment building at 370 Broadway early Monday morning.

Around 1:20 a.m. officers got calls concerning the above scene, saying that a man had been banging on a door to one of the apartments and then dragged the woman to the elevator when she opened the door.

When police responded they found both people in the parking garage and it was determined that they were known to each other.

However, all was not hunky dory.

After a brief struggle, officers took Steven Burton into custody and charged him with kidnapping, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

RHS student arrested

A Revere High School student found himself in a heap of trouble when he used his bathroom pass to go outside for a smoke – and then was found with some weapons.

Officers were called to the school on Monday, April 9th, around 12:41 p.m. to arrest the student.

School officials told them that the student had asked for a bathroom pass, but instead went outside and smoked a cigarette. When a staff member approached the student to find out why he was outside, he was found to have brass knuckles and a folding knife in his pocket.

Carlos Garcia, 17, of 70 Highland St., was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds.

Residents alerted to scam

Revere Police and the Rite Aid store on Broadway are alerting residents to a scam that has been perpetrated door-to-door for the last few weeks.

On April 1st, the store began selling balloons for donations to The Children’s Hospital as part of a month-long campaign.

However, on April 11th, a manager notified police that he was getting several calls about individuals going door-to-door and soliciting donations for the balloons. The individuals misrepresented themselves and said they were from the store and collecting money for the drive.

That is not the case, police say.

Rite Aid conducted an internal investigation and found that an unknown quantity of the balloons had been stolen from the store.

Police and the store are informing residents not to purchase the balloons from anyone coming door-to-door. Further, they are asking that anyone with any information call police.

If any citizens can provide any information about the suspects involved or have been victims of larceny, they can contact Det. Lyn Romboli at 781-656-1115 or e-mail her at [email protected].

Grass fire danger very real

Revere Fire Chief Gene Doherty is alerting all residents about the extreme hazards that exist right now for grass fires, and he’s especially putting those near the marshes on alert.

A couple of weeks ago, a train near Oak Island on Glendale Street sent a spark into the grass that ignited a gigantic grass fire and provided some pretty spectacular visuals. However, firefighters were able to keep it away from residences.

Nevertheless, extremely dry conditions are ripe for grass fires.

“We don’t allow outdoor burning anyway in Revere, but there are still people who do burn outdoors and we would ask them to stop and be very careful,” he said.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office has also released a warning about the threat of grass fires.

Sad situation

A great deal of excitement on Monday morning led to sad circumstances on North Shore Road as hordes of commuters watched a bloodied man on his roof Tuesday morning.

Fire and Police responded after numerous commuters and drivers pulled over to alert MBTA police that there was a naked man on a nearby roof who was covered in blood and appeared to be in danger.

Police responded, but it was too late.

No one else was in the building at the time.

Typically, such situations are not reported, but due to the great amount of public concern Tuesday morning, it was noted.
