Alice Antonucci

Revere resident

Alice M. (Fabiano) Antonucci of Revere died on August 22.

The beloved wife of the late Santo “Sarno,” she was the devoted mother of Vincent and his wife, Marie of Wakefield, Louis and his wife, Carolyn of Everett and the late Johanna Carifio; dear sister of Richard Fabiano of Florida and the late Joseph, Frank, Alfred and Ralph Fabiano and Rose Vaccaro. She is also survived by seven loving grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Thursday at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Marie Russo

Retired Office Clerk and Devoted Homemaker

Marie M. (Pannarello) Russo died August 19 at the Masconomet Health Care Center in Topsfield where she was beginning to receive supportive care.  She was 82 years old.

A devoted homemaker and a retired office clerk, she was born and raised in Chelsea, the beloved daughter of the late Gaetano and Margaret (Pietracatella) Pannarello.   She began working outside of her home in the 1960’s as a clerk for the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Boston. She later worked as an office worker for Raimond/Leonard Silver Co., in Chelsea and East Boston before retiring.

A Chelsea native, she also lived in Revere for many years before relocating to Peabody 16 years ago.  She enjoyed bowling and was a league bowler for several years at the Townline Lanes in Malden. She also enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and playing various card games with friends.

She was the beloved mother of Donna Libman and her husband. Stephen of Lynnfield, Dianne Green and her husband, Jeff of Hillsboro NH, Marie Branconnier and her husband, Robert of Peabody and Marjorie O’Connell and her husband, James of Middleton; cherished grandmother of the late Todd Libman and is also survived by Stacey Libman, Jim Morrison, Nicole Green, Slade Green, Brian and Evan Ardolino, Eric and Austin O’Connell.  She was the dear sister of Millie Brown of Middleton and Marge DiSciullo of Danvers and the devoted niece of Rose Barbera of Long Island, NY and the late Gloria Saggese.

Her Funeral Service was conducted from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

June Colella

Wife of “Former Mayor” George Colella

 June (Murphy) Colella of Revere died on August 20. She was 83 years old.

Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Murphy). A graduate of Salem State College, she was a member of the Revere Women’s Club and St. Anthony’s Ladies Sodality and was a very active member of the community.

She was the beloved wife of the late “Former Mayor” George V.; devoted mother of Joan Bullock and her husband, Michael, Jennifer Martelli and her husband, Vincent, all of Marblehead and Liz Kirk of San Antonio TX; loving grandmother of Matthew Bullock, Mia Martelli, Michael Martelli, John Kirk Jr and Jenna Kirk; dear sister of the late Doris Morris and William Murphy.

William Ferullo

Past President of Revere Kiwanis and Revere Chamber of Commerce

William R. Ferullo died on Monday at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center in Peabody. He was 69 years old.

He was the former owner of Modern Day Plumbing, the Past President of the Revere Kiwanis Club and Past President of the Revere Chamber of Commerce.

The husband of the late Leona (Cappola) Ferullo, he was born in Malden and raised in Somerville, the son of Josephine (Macina) Ferullo of Medford and the late Eddie Ferullo. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, William R. Ferullo, Jr. and his wife, Wendi of Peabody and Lisa Coppola and her husband, Joseph of Middleton. He was the grandfather of Nicholas, John, Nikole, Jenna and Joseph and great grandfather of Bradlee and is also survived by his companion, Janet Wright of Lynn.

His funeral will be held from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Friday, August 26 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Salvatore Tummino

Raytheon Retiree

Salvatore Tummino of Marlborough, formerly of Revere, died after being stricken ill earlier in the week. He was 82 years old.

He was the husband of Carmela (Bottari) Tummino to whom he was married for 50 years.

He was born in Barrafranca, Sicily, the son of the late Salvatore and Angela (Russo) Tummino and lived in Italy and Revere before moving to Marlborough 14 years ago.

He was a veteran of the Italian Armed Forces and was employed as an engineering technician for the Raytheon Company for 25 years. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish and a member of the former St. Ann’s Parish, both of Marlborough. While living in Revere, he was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish and was a former president and active member of the Holy Name Society of the parish.

He is survived by four sons, Anthony of Hudson, Peter of Lower Gwynedd, PA, John of Rowley and Michael of Maynard; one brother, Angelo of Everett, one sister, Josephina Canale of Italy, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Joanne Green who died in 1997 and the brother of the late Charles.

Sabino ‘Sammy’ Recchia

Soccer enthusiast and Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman’s Local 3 member

Sabino “Sammy” Recchia of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on August 19. He was 68 years old.

Born in 1942, he grew up in Bari, Italy. He and his family moved to the United States in 1960. He was a master in masonry with much of his work displayed throughout Revere and all of the Greater Boston area. He had a passion for soccer, which was evident in his earlier years as an avid player and later as a dedicated viewer watching his favorite team, “Napoli.” His utmost enjoyment was to spend as much time as he could with his family. His bigger than life personality and never ending generosity made him well-known throughout the community as he touched the lives of so many. He will be immensely missed by everyone.

A member of Bricklayers and  Allied Craftsmen Local 3, he was the beloved husband of Barbara ( Vinagro) Recchia with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of four daughters, Diana Moffett and her husband, Lloyd of Newburyport, Marisa DiGiovanni and her husband, Arthur of Marblehead, Marygrace Brown and her husband, Warren of Bradford and Jennifer Boyd and her husband, William of Revere; dear brother of Maria Turturro of East Boston and Domenico Recchia of Revere; cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Alexandra, Madison and Olivia DiGiovanni and Dylan Brown; son of Teresa (Lenoci) Recchia of East Boston and the late Francesco Recchia and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joseph J. “Joey” Yourawski of Revere died on August 14 after a long illness.

Barbara A. (DeMont) Alves of Revere died in Largo, Florida on August 16.

She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Alves, Sr.; loving mother of Anthony Alves, Jr. and his wife, Dee of East Boston, Patti Deeran and her husband, Sean, Sr. of Largo, FL, Barbie Ferris and her husband, Thomas III of Revere; cherished grandmother of six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Margaret  F. (Donovan) Sweeney of Revere, formerly of Charlestown, died on August 20. She was 102 years old.

A member of the Daughters of Isabella #1 and the Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association, she was the beloved wife of the late James F. Sweeney; devoted mother of Margaret “Peggy” Battista and her husband, Gerald of Revere, Ann Sweeney of Scituate, James S. Sweeney and his wife, Christine DeConsini of Bethesda, MD., Stephen M. Sweeney of Quincy and the late Carol Lefebvre and her surviving husband, Edgar of Plymouth; loving Nanny to Stephen, Timothy, Suzanne, Matthew, Annmarie, Carolyn, Andrea, Gerald, Sean, Abigail, Jacob, Hannah and her eight great-grandchildren and beloved sister of the late Joseph Donovan and Elizabeth Rogers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Virginia Martocchio

Former Revere City Hall employee

Virginia J. (Jones) Martocchio of Lawrence, formerly of Revere, died suddenly on August 20 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She was 62 years old.

A former employee of the Revere City Tax Collector at City Hall, she was the beloved mother of Robin Devine and her husband, Paul of Lawrence, Tammy Laurina and her husband, Joseph of Revere, Bobby Joe Martocchio and his wife, Christina of Lawrence; loving grandmother of Emily, Joshua and Dillon; dear sister of Patricia Ruebel of Amesbury and Thomas Jones of Peabody. She was born in Revere, the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Brackett) Jones.

Florence ‘Aunty’ Kloack

Past president of VFW Post 6712

Florence A. “Aunty” (Jacobs, Conway) Kloack of Port St. Lucie, Florida died peacefully at her home on August 17 following a brief period of failing health. She was 87 years old.

Born and raised in Revere, Mrs. Kloack moved to Florida in 1976. She always showed an adventurous streak. In the 1940’s she was one of only 150,000 women to serve in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) where she served in Texas.  Along with her late husband, John Conway, who died in 1975, she purchased property in a remote part of Maine where she thrilled her nieces with snowmobiling, boating, swimming and Chinese rummy.

Prior to relocating to Florida, Mrs. Kloack had a long and distinguished career as an underwriter at Commercial Union Assurance Company in Boston. She was also the past president of the VFW Post 6712 in Beachmont.

Mrs. Kloack is survived by her husband, Robert Kloack of Port St. Lucie, FL. She also leaves two sisters, Dorothy Olsen and her husband, Retired Revere Fire Department Captain Henry Olsen of Revere, Mrs. Marjorie Clukey and her husband, Roger of Vero Beach, FL and one brother,  Harold F. Jacobs Jr. of Panama City FL. “Aunty” also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Frances DePasquale, Charles Jacobs, Earl Jacobs and James Jacobs and the daughter of the late Rose and Harold F. Jacobs.

A memorial service in her name will be held on Saturday, September 3 at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere.

Joseph Fiore

Beachmont resident

Joseph Fiore of Beachmont, Revere died on August 15.

He was the cherished son of Lena (Serino) Fiore of Revere and the late Vincent P. Fiore; loving brother of Domenic Fiore and Stephen Fiore, both of Revere, Angela Fiore of Peabody and the late James Fiore; brother in law of Sylvia Fiore of Woburn; dear uncle of Tayla, Stephen, Nicole Fiore and Brian and James Foster and he also leaves his grand niece, Desiree Fiore.

Helen Tuttle

Worked for Department of Commerce

Helen (Gootkin) Tuttle, formerly of Malden and Lakeworth, FL., died on August 14. She was 96 years old.

She was a long time member of the Choir of Temple Tifereth Israel, Bnai Brith, and Hadassah. A former employee of the Department of Commerce, she received many performance awards. In 1963, she was the sole recipient of “Outstanding Interviewer Award” from the Census Bureau. A former supervisor for the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, she hired, trained and supervised staff. For 10 years she volunteered in the income tax assistance program.

She loved to play golf and was proud of her Hole-In-One in 1982. She and her late husband took courses each year with the Elder Hostel Program. An enthusiastic traveler, she and her husband shared their slides and adventures with all.

She was the devoted wife of the late Max Tuttle; beloved mother of Marilyn and her husband, Robert Pollack, the late Dr. Gerald Tuttle and his wife, Cheryl Tuttle; dear sister of Honey Edna Stohn; cherished grandmother of Steven and Terry Pollack, Donna Leis, Matthew and Jarah Tuttle and Ross Tuttle; proud great grandmother of Ethan, Justin, Cameron, Jared and Braden.
