Lawrence Sirois

Retired Owner of Surf Cleaners in Winthrop

Lawrence Sirois of Revere, formerly of Winthrop, Maine and Florida, died June 13 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center, Revere after a long illness. He was 89 years old.

Born in Norridgework, ME, the son of the late Laura (Burgoyne) and Edmund Sirois, he spent his early years in Sherman Station, Maine and was a graduate of Sherman High School. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and prior to his retirement, he was the proprietor of the Surf Cleaners in Winthrop. He lived in Winthrop for more than 28 years and lived in Acton, Me and St. Peterburg Beach, Florida.

He was the beloved husband of Sara (Madona);  the  dear brother-in-law of Paul and Norma Facella of Melrose, Frances Daly of Winthrop and the late Sam and Florence Facella, loving uncle of Paula Ward and Christine Deveau, dear  brother of Coleen Mullis, Jerald and Brenda Sirois, of all of Millinocket, ME and the late Leonard Sirois and Ronald Mullis; uncle of Reed and Karen Mullis of Wells, ME and Peggy and Hugh Cumming of Millinocket, ME. He is also survived by many more nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held from the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son – O’Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St. Winthrop, Thursday  at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Belle Isle Section of Winthrop Cemetery. Lillian Carriere

Lifelong Revere resident

Lillian G. “Annabell” Carriere, a life long resident of Revere, died after a long illness at her Revere home on June 13. She was 78 years old.

Born in Chelsea, she was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1951. Early in her working career, she was a telephone operator for the New England Tel. & Tel.

She leaves her devoted husband of 59 years, Joseph Carriere Jr. She was the cherished mother of Patricia A. marchese and her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Marchese of Peabody and Scott A. Carriere and his fiancee, Catherine A. Catalucci of Revere; dear grandmother of Lauren E. Fanning and her husband, Josh, of Peabody, Robin L. Tuberosa of Saugus, Chase, Regan and Kaitlin Carriere, all of Peabody. She was the daughter of the late William and Lil (Hann) Chapman and the sister of the late Vera C. Yetman and the late William J. Chapman. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prof. Ernest Charrier, EdD

Educator

Prof. Ernest L. Charrier, EdD, formerly of Revere and New York City, died on June 10 at the Spaulding Nursing & Therapy Center of the North End of Boston following a long illness.

Born in Everett, he was raised and educated in Revere and graduated from Revere High School, Salem State Teachers’ College and Emerson College. He moved to New York City where he continued his studies and received his Doctorate in Education. For more than 30 years he taught at Manhattan Community College in NYC. After retirement, he returned to Massachusetts and moved to Malden to care for his mother who died in February of 2004.

He was the beloved son of the late Revere Deputy Fire Chief Ernest F. Charrier and the late Rolande R. (VanBever) Charrier; cherished twin brother to Lorraine M. Webber and her husband, Edward J., of Revere and is also lovingly survived by his aunt and uncle, Leonard VanBever and his wife, Phyllis, of Woonsocket, RI. and several nieces and nephews.

Francis O’Hanley Jr.

Of Saugus, formerly of Revere

Francis A. O’Hanley, Jr. of Saugus, formerly of Revere, died by accident on June 11.

A US Army Vietnam veteran, he was a graduate of Boston Trade School, an avid fisherman and an auto mechanic for many years.

Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Francis A. and Bernice (MacDonald) O’Hanley; the beloved husband of Nancy (York); devoted father of Amy and Timothy O’Hanley, both of Saugus; dear brother of Bernice Blasi and her husband, Anthony, of Revere, Janet O’Hanley of Saugus, James and his wife, Julie, of Virginia and Maureen Thibeault and her husband, Earl, of Billerica. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

HVAC Tech for Mass Bay Commuter Rails

Joseph A. Coppola of Malden, formerly of Revere, died by accident on June 11. He was 57 years old.

Born in Revere, he attended Revere Schools and worked as an HVAC Tech for Mass Bay Commuter Rails.

He was the beloved husband of Cathy E (DiNapoli); loving son of Mary (Ricciardi) and the late Joseph Coppola; dear brother of Samuel Coppola and Cynthia Coppola, both of Revere and Gerald Ricciardi of Malden and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Roseann E. (DiGirolamo) Terilli of Beverly, formerly of East Boston and Revere, died peacefully on June 11. She was 59 years old.

The beloved wife of John A. Terilli, she was the loving mother of Jeff Terilli and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Beverly; sister of Virginia “Ginger” Steriti and her husband, Patrick, of Scituate and Joseph DiGirolamo and his wife, Mariam, of East Boston and the aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antonette (Caruso) DiGirolamo and daughter-in-law of the late Joseph and Mary (Colantuone) Terilli.

Anthony DeFeo, Jr.

Former GE Machinist

Anthony A. DeFeo Jr. of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on June 13.

He was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1971 and a former machinist at the GE Plant in Lynn.

The cherished son of Anthony A. DeFeo Sr. and Elena “Helen” (Todesco) DeFeo of Chelsea, he was the loving brother of  Constance Bertolino and her husband, Anthony, of Revere and Patrick DeFeo and his wife, Donna, of Florida; dear friend of Diane Pagluca of Medford and adored uncle of Toni-ann Merlina and her husband, Mark, of Saugus, Amy of South Weymouth, Felicia of Nahant and he also leaves many uncles, aunts and cousins. He is also survived by his cat, Misty.

Russell E. King Jr. of Revere died on June 12.

A US Army Vietnam veteran and a graduate of Revere High School, he was a member of the Saugus VFW, Revere American Legion and a former employee of GE of Lynn.

Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Russell and Thelma (Bagnulo) King; the beloved husband of the late Joanne (Lancia); devoted father of Diana LeBlanc and her husband, Paul, and Russell King III; loving grandfather of Cynthia, Kaitlyn, Stephen and Justin, all of Lynn; dear brother of Adrienne King of Wrentham and is also survived by many loving cousins.

Mary (Gambardella) Giacchetti of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died at Winthrop Place on June 12. She was 90 years old

Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late William and Carmella (Giacchetti) Gambardella. She worked for many years as a stitcher in the clothing industry.

She was the beloved wife of the late Guisseppe; dear sister of the late Salve and Louis Gambardella; beloved sister in law of Angelina Gambardella of New Hampshire and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Pasquale Pezzano

North End resident

Pasquale Pezzano of Boston’s North End died on June 9. He was 77 years old.

Mr. Pezzano worked for many years as a foreman at the Modern Continental Construction Company which worked on the Big Dig in Boston.

He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Ruzzo) Pezzano; loving father of Anthony P. Pezzano and his wife, Diane, of Revere, Rocco Pezzano and his significant other, Lynn, of Andover, Pasquale S. Pezzano and his wife, Lynn Patti,. of Salisbury and Lisa Ann Buccieri and her husband, Michael, of Medford; dear brother of Ersila Torra and her husband, Luigi, of Boston and Antoinette Torra and her husband, Alberto, of Medford and the devoted grandfather of Megan, Mark, Diandra, Michele, and Michalia. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

John Gaff

Owned General Edwards Inn, Revere

John “Jack” Gaff of Largo, Florida died on June 9. He was 80 years old.

Born in Boston, he moved to Largo in 2004 from Everett. Before retirement, he worked for Warren Pipe and Foundry, Everett and was the proprietor of General Edwards Inn, Revere. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW, Everett. He loved gardening and playing cribbage.

He was the brother of the late Harold Gaff and is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, John W. and his wife, Deborah, of Lynnfield, Joseph and his wife, Nanci, of Everett and daughters, Patricia Neff of Las Vegas, NV and Paula Nestor and Bob Lavallee of Nestor, Hampstead, NH; his brothers, Thomas Gaff and his wife, Mary Jo, of Laconia, NH and Jerome Gaff of Hampstead, NH and his sisters, Loretta Lynch and her husband, Frankie of Hampstead, NH; his sister in law, Jean Gaff of Revere; his grandchildren, Jason, Gaff, Jared Neff, Kris Gaff, Cory Gaff, Heidi Nestor, Kyleigh Gaff and TJ Gaff.

Domenic P. D’Amore of East Boston died on June 9.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was a past member of the  K of C  Assunta Lodge of the North End of Boston and a member of the Beachmont VFW.

He was the beloved husband of Carmela (Gambale); devoted father of Sandra D’Amore and her husband, Paul Anderson, of Arizona and Domenic P. D’Amore Jr. of East Boston; dear brother of Carmela Soriano and her husband, Patrick, of Saugus and the late Jenny Cogliano, Ann Miller, Samuel, Anthony, George and Joseph D’Amore; adored grandfather of Christina and Domenic III; cherished brother in law of George Gambale of East Boston, Nicholas Gambale of Leominster, Anthony Gambale and Alfonso Gambale, both of East Boston, and the late Angelina Scarpetta, Philip and Charles Gambale and Jenny DiMinico.

She was the beloved wife of Ronald E. Erickson; daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Zuzello) DiStaula of East Boston; loving mother of Susan L. Graves of Norton, and Jodi M. Jean Ann Simonelli of Boston’s North End died on June 8.

A long-time employee of the Mass. Department of Revenue, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Picardo) Simonelli; beloved long-time companion of Jerry Iandoli of the North End; loving sister of Mary Ann Foti and her husband, George; devoted aunt of Adrienne and Anna Foti and is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and long-time friends.

Frederick F. Ciampi, Sr. of Saugus died on June 8.

A member of the American Legion of Winter Haven, FL., he was the husband of the late Maxine (Bundrick) Ciampi; loving father of Fred F. Jr., and his wife, Jean, of Florida, Robert J. and his wife, Penny, of Lynnfield, Camille Donnelly and her husband, James, of Saugus and the late Mike and Walter Ciampi; beloved grandfather of Maxine Pratt, Mike Ciampi Jr., Camille Kirrane, Christina Carrier, Cynthia Donnelly, Nychola Slater and the late Fred F. Ciampi III and is also survived by seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Leonard J. Fici of Revere, formerly of the North End of Boston,  died unexpectedly on June 4. He was 58 years old.

 

A US Marine Corps veteran, he was a  former employee of Schnitzer Northeast, Everett.

 

Raised in the North End of Boston, he was the son of the late Leonard and Susie (Aniello) Fici, father of Tessa E. Everman, grandfather of Bostin and Julian, all of Des Moines, Iowa, brother of Lucille Giso and her husband, Richard, of Peabody, Dolores A. “Dee Dee” Fici, of Revere, and Rose Solimini and her husband, Gerald, of Reading and uncle of several nieces and nephews.

 

A Memorial Funeral Mass was held in St. Leonard’s Church, North End, Boston. Burial will be in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date. Alfred Campello

Member of VFW and Saugus Senior Center

Alfred J. Campello of Saugus, formerly of Revere, died on June 6 at the Hammersmith House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Saugus. He was 95 years old.

 

Born and raised in Revere, the son of the late Patsy and Susan (Stafferi) Campello, he has been a Saugus resident since 1980. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Saugus Senior Center and the VFW DeFranzo Post 2346 in Saugus.  He has been a resident of Saugus since 1980.

 

The husband of the late Lillian Ann (MacKenzie) Campello, he was the father of Elaine Thorpe of Woburn and Lillian Ann Decoste of Raynham; brother of Catherine Gravell of Dover, NH, the late Edvige Matthews and the late Albert and Andrew Campello; uncle of Mary MacKenzie of Saugus; loving companion of Beverly King of Revere and is also survived by three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
