Josephine Moccia

Active at St. Anthony’s Church

Josephine (Gelardi) Moccia, a lifelong Revere resident, died on May 13 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 86 years old.

Born in Revere, she attended Revere Schools and was a former office manager for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. A  30-year CCD Teacher, she was the Past Prefect of the Ladies Sodality,  a Eucharistic Minister and a member of  Finance Committee at St Anthony’s Church.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline Gelardi; the beloved wife of the late John “Jake”; devoted mother of Joanne “Harlee” Bean and her husband, Jesse, of California and Paula MacDonald and her husband, John, of Revere; loving grandmother of  Lauren, Thomas John and Adrianna; dear sister of Anthony Gelardi of New Hampshire and the late Matthew Gelardi, Anne Gelardi, Celia DelVecchio, Vincenza Randazzo and Mary Patch and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Lou Rudzinsky

Owner and President of Lou Rudzinsky Association Inc.

Lou Rudzinsky, a resident of Revere for 19 years, formerly a resident of Belmont for 25 years and Hypoluxo, FL died on May 15.

He was born and raised in Everett and was a graduate of both Everett High School (Class of 1951) and Northeastern University (Class of 1956). He was the Personnel Director for ITEK Corp, the Human Resource Director of AVCO Everett Research Lab, and the President and Owner of Louis Rudzinsky Association Inc. Personnel and Placement Consultants. He was a lecturer at Northeastern University, Secretary of the Personnel Board for the Town of Belmont and Vice President of the PTA. He was also the President of the M.P.P.C and past president of F.I.P.C.

He was the beloved husband of Muriel (Baltimore) Rudzinsky; the devoted father of Howard Rudzinsky and his wife, Cherie, Jeff Rudzinsky and his wife, DeeDee, David Rudzinsky, and Lisa Keeler and her husband, Chuck; the dear brother of the late Robert Rudin; the loving grandfather of Danny, Kelsey, Nick, Jessie, Kelsie, Michael, Max, Jack, Sophie, Abe and Sam.

Michael Mahoney

Painter

Michael J. Mahoney of Lucia Avenue, Revere died suddenly at home on May 15. He was 44 years old.

Born in Revere, he was the beloved son of Janice M. (Devine) and the late Robert C. Mahoney. A 1984 graduate of Revere High School, he worked as a painter for many years and was a member of the Painter’s Union.

He was the cherished father of Kayla and the dear brother of Deborah Mackey and her husband, Timmy, of Peabody, Robert Mahoney and his wife, Gina, of Revere, Eddie Mahoney and his wife, Marybeth, of Melrose, Thomas Mahoney and his wife, Deborah, of New Hampshire, Maureen Mahoney of Revere, Kevin Mahoney and his fiancé, Lisa Sullivan, of Brockton and Mary McNeil of Revere. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, one grand niece and one grand nephew.

Jeanette (Harrington) Landano of South Carolina, formerly of Revere, died on May 9.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Landano and is survived by four children, one sister, three brothers, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Andrew Hiscock of Burlington died on May 13.

Raised and educated in Revere, he was the husband of Myrtilla (D’Oliveira); loving father of Tanya Elliott and her husband, Kenneth, of Billerica, Cynthia Saudarg and her husband, Charles, of Atlanta, GA, and Andrea Hiscock of Tewksbury; brother of Phyllis Watson of Malden, Harry Hiscock of Nashua, NH, the late Elizabeth Doke, George, Mildred and Helen Hiscock; grandfather of Renee and Christina Elliott and Michael and C.J. Luciano Salerno of Revere died on May 14. He was 88 years old.

A US Army veteran of World War II and a former Federal Government Manager, he was the beloved husband of Maria (Bottari); devoted father of Melina Salerno and her partner, Kathy Sanders, of Arlington and Anne Marie Halpin and her husband, Michael, of Salem; loving grandfather of Sean Michael, Christian Anthony, Alina Rose and Max; dear son of the late Rafaele and Maria Domenica (Franco) Salerno; cherished brother of Mary Frasca of Boston, Gloria Luciano of Everett and the late Anthony and Danny.

Patsy (Patterson) Testa of Revere died on May 13 at Epoch of Melrose. She was 75 years old.

Born in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of the late Llyod and Emma (Four) Patterson, she was a home maker who graduated from high school in Ohio and attended Ohio State University.

She was the beloved wife of Robert Testa; devoted mother of Melody Tosi and her husband, Philip, of Salisbury; loving grandmother of Vallerie, Stephanie and Dylan; dear sister of Diana Jones of New Mexico.

Joseph J. “Joe” Limoli Sr. of Tewksbury, formerly of Revere, died on May 11.

He was the beloved husband of the late Angelina “Dolly” (Rappa); loving father of Joseph J. Jr. and Leona “Lee” White, both of Tewksbury, and Judi Lindberg and her husband, Dana, of Amesbury and the late Edward J. Rose Shultz

Retired teacher

Rose A. (Rosenberg) Shultz died on May 11 at the Lighthouse Nursing Home in Revere. She was 93 years old.

Born in Chelsea, she lived in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School and Salem State College, Class of 1939. She taught at the Louis Pasteur and Mary T. Ronan Schools and later in her career, until retirement, she was a remedial reading teacher. She was a member of the Hadassah B’nai B’rith. She spent her life dedicated to her husband and family.

The beloved wife of the late Morris L. Shultz, she was the devoted mother of Elaine Gadon and her companion, James O’Brien, of Winthrop; loving daughter of the late Max and Mary Rosenberg; dear sister of Manuel Rosenberg and his wife, Janice, the late Dorothy Cohen and her late husband, Samuel, the late Selma Leibowitz and husband, Harold, the late Bernard “Sunny” Rosenberg and his late wife, Rhoda, and sister in law to the late Philip and Bella Weisberg. She was the grandmother of Jay Gadon, Bradley Gadon and his wife, Amy, and Heather Gadon-Lee and her husband, Andrew; dear great-grandmother of Myles,  Marley,  Maxwell,  Ethan and Rachael.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

Christine Franzese

Christine M. Franzese of Winthrop died at the Marist Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham on Sunday, May 8 after a long illness. She was 54 years old.

Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of Rita (Langone) and the late William P. Franzese, she was a lifetime resident of Winthrop. She was a 1974 graduate of Winthrop High School, a 1986 graduate of Emerson College, and a 1999 graduate of the Massachusetts School of Law. She was an associate in the Law Firm of Franzese & Franzese, worked as the personnel director at Emerson College, taught at the Massachusetts School of Law and was a political operative for the Clinton campaign in 1992.

She was the dear sister of Janice S. and Leo Cushing of Lexington, Joseph P. and Lisa Franzese of Winthrop, William P. Jr. and Tia Franzese of Marblehead and Paula E. and Marc Rie of Melrose and loving aunt of William Cushing, Ashlee C. Cushing, Kirby M. Franzese, William P. Franzese III and Annabelle E. Rie.
