Halloween – Doom and gloom rules

This Halloween more kids dressed entirely in black than ever before.

It was noted that Spiderman costumes were hard to find and that the dark and bleak costuming of ghoulish and ghostlike figures or zombies is a sign of the times.

That is, the costumes worn by so many kids this year did not depict a landscape of hope or even of mock horror.

Rather, the dreary, dark costuming reflected the dreariness of the economic times and of the future, which needs a bit of a positive spark if things are going to turn around.

There remained a few Cinderellas here and there.

But not enough.
