Sasso selected to play in state all-star game

Hockey fans in the Northeastern Conference have known that Revere High center Jay sasso is one of the top players on the North Shore, but now Jay will display his talents on a state wide level when he takes part in the first annual Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association All Star game to be held March 20 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell.

“This really is a major honor for Jay,” said RHS head coach Jim Palumbo, who explained that only five players from the Northeastern Conference were nominated for the game and of those five, only two, the other being Mark Bucci from Peabody, were selected.

Altogether, there will be 46 of the top senior schoolboy hockey players from across the state, competing on two teams of 23, participating in the contest at the Tsongas.

Sasso’s teammate, goalie Nick DiMare was one of the other players nominated from the NEC, which also was quite a feat given that only five from the NEC received nominations.
