I was born in the area many years ago and use to play on the beach in the 50's and early 60's. Even though I live in the Midwest many of my fond memories are left on that beach. We used to come back every summer and dig for clams, swim, ride the coaster and eat the greatest food in the world. While the rides are gone as are most of the food establishments and most of the clams you can still swim. Two years ago I didn't have the energy to swim, but I loved the walk along the beach. I will say however that when the clams return in the abundance of the 50's perhaps then you have come full circle. Jack Hoover Cedar Rapids, Iowa

The DCR has done a wonderful job of cleaning up the beach on a regular basis. Revere Beach is a joy for city people who can get right off the T and be in a wonderful environment to be enjoyed by families who would otherwise not be able to avail themselves of such enjoyment and the beach and parking is FREE. What a bargain! P.S. By the way, is the cleanup under the heading of the DCR? Correct me if I am wrong on that assumption.
