Casella and the OUI

According to sources who claim to know, Councillor Mark Casella’s problems are multiplying instead of going away.
The Revere Police have allegedly amended their recent Operating Under the Influence (OUI) complaint against the councilor to include previous instances of driving under the influence – a move likely to cause Casella’s case to be heard by a judge instead of a magistrate in the Chelsea District Court.
If the judge who hears the case decides it moves forward, Casella has a real problem as the multiple OUIs constitute a felony.
“If he was smart, he’d announce he’s not running for re-election and this whole thing will probably go away,” said a local lawyer. “He probably doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation.”
